🏙️ If we want to achieve Europe’s energy and climate goals, the building sector will have to reduce its carbon emissions by 60%. 💚 Effective insulation lies at the heart of the solution, with the ability to reduce our energy waste and, consequently, carbon emissions as well. So with this knowledge, we got to work! 🤝 Partnering with Ramboll, we've conducted a detailed analysis to calculate how much energy and CO₂ emissions are saved each year by installing Knauf Mineral Wool Insulation in buildings across Europe. 💡 The results? Our study shows that our Mineral Wool Insulation pays for itself environmentally in just 95 days. Or in other words, the carbon emissions saved from reduced heating energy use within three months match the emissions generated during the manufacturing of our products. Once more, these results underscore the incredible power buildings have to decrease carbon emissions. So let’s use this power, and build better buildings. Prioritising insulation that’s more effective results in increased thermal efficiency for your clients, meaning a better service from you and greater positive environmental impacts. Not sure how exactly the effectiveness of insulation is measured? To figure out how efficient a certain type of insulation material is, you can figure out the U-value of the building structure you’re hoping to insulate and how insulation will affect it. The lower the U-value, the better insulated the space is, so you should aim for the lowest U-value possible in your construction projects.
