VINCI Construction: Building Excellence As one of the world’s largest construction companies, VINCI Construction is handling major projects like the **Saint-Denis Aquatic Centre**, known for its solar farm and extensive use of recycled materials. VINCI’s expertise in large-scale, sustainable infrastructure is on full display. Bouygues Construction: Sustainable Innovation Bouygues Construction, a global leader in infrastructure projects, is building the Arena Porte de la Chapelle, an eco-friendly venue with 80% green surfaces and bio-sourced materials. I am absolutely inspired by the thoughtful, adaptive and community-focused plans Paris has for the 2024 Olympic Games. Using a mega event like this as a catalyst for long-term community improvement is exactly how we should approach urban planning. ✅ A total of 95 per cent of the Paris 2024 competition venues will be pre-existing or temporary and the rest will be built using low-carbon construction methods. ✅ The Aquatics Centre will provide a multi-sports hub for the local community long after the Games. This centre will largely rely on energy provided by 4,680 square metres of solar panels installed on its rooftop. ✅ All seats in the Aquatics Centre are made from recycled local plastic waste. Wood is at the heart of the building, helping to reduce emissions from construction. ✅ The regeneration plans for Seine-Saint-Denis like upgrading local infrastructure and including underground electricity lines for public use are also brilliant.
