Earlier this month, CEGA hosted our 12th annual Africa Evidence Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania! Co-organized with The Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa Researchers in Africa (NIERA), this year's Summit convened over 350 researchers, practitioners, funders, policymakers, and more to discuss the latest research in economic development. As the largest convening focused on rigorous research on development on the continent, #AES2024 featured: 📚 A keynote address from Tanzania's Minister of Education Adolf Mkenda 🧐 Research presentations, including a session with CEGA Founder Edward Miguel on aging in Africa 🤝 Panel discussions, including a session on research ethics in Africa with Catherine Kyobutungi, Melissa Graboyes, and Mercyline Kamande 📊 Poster presentations from over 60 researchers and organizations, who showcased relevant work in Africa Thank you to our wonderful partners, including African Population and Health Research Center, Global Poverty Research Lab, Economic and Social Research Foundation, J-PAL Africa, The Mawazo Institute, and Twaweza East Africa, for making this event a success!
