There are some great Halloween campaigns happening at the moment, a great example coming from The Coca-Cola Company with their Fanta / Warner Bros new Beetlejuice movie collaboration. As you all know confectionery and soft drinks are key products when it comes to the Halloween season and who doesn't love a good comedy horror? Our audience definitely do! 4.3 million consumers who frequently / regularly withdraw cash from an ATM are Fanta drinkers and, as you can see from the graph featured, consumers who can recall seeing an ad on a cash machine in the past week are 73% more likely, than the average, to have been to the cinema in the last week! Coming off a week of being OOO! I didn’t do anything particularly special. To be honest, I was feeling a bit tired—maybe even a little burnt out. So, I took my own managerial advice and booked some time off to hang out at home and reset my routine. I also celebrated a birthday! If you’re a fall baby like me (shoutout to my fellow Libras 👋), maybe you think of fall as a reset, too. While enjoying a staycation at home, I took some time to reflect. Here are a few things I’ve been thinking about: • Working in comms/marketing for ten years! • Celebrating 5 years at Brandish | A Creative Agency marking my transition from non-profit comms to #AgencyLife. • How much my first comms job taught me about people. • How fun it is to see my peers grow in their careers. • Is the art of the commercial coming back?! And hopefully more thoughts I can flesh out in future posts. Stay tuned!

Our Creative and Strategy teams have been heads-down with client work, the Comms team is full steam ahead with Re:union planning and our Partners are organizing an upcoming agency activity (get excited for Week 44 of the vlog!). On January 1st, I made the move to the United States to expand Bingo Loco after 7 successful years organizing bingo raves in the UK, Irish and Australian markets. Here's a glimpse of my 10 key learnings from this exciting journey: - Researching Local Markets: Understanding consumer behavior, preferences, legal requirements, and competition was crucial for our expansion. - Crafting a Clear Strategy: Defining objectives and strategies tailored to the US market's nuances, from big cities to smaller markets. - Compliance with Local Laws: Adhering to state and city tax regulations was essential before approaching new territories. - Cultural Sensitivity: Adapting our show to local norms and business etiquettes in the diverse US market. - Effective Communication: Hiring local staff and adjusting humor and language to resonate with different audiences. - Building a Local Presence: Establishing in-person connections to demonstrate commitment and trust. - Strong Partnerships: Managing relationships uniquely to be adaptive and responsive. - Supply Chain Management: Developing a local logistics strategy for efficient operations. - Hiring Local Talent: Investing in performers who understand regional differences and audience preferences. - Continuous Adaptation: Regularly reviewing and adapting strategies based on market feedback and conditions. In the last few months: - 32% of states have operational setups (Pink) - 26% have operations pending (Orange) - 42% are part of the roadmap ahead (Blue) Excited to continue this journey of growth and adaptation in the dynamic US market!

The post Christmas week is probably just as important as the week before Christmas. With sales being strong as we came out of Boxing Day. I guess this is when the kids get to buy what they really want. Post Christmas sales seem to be dominated by the LEGO Group The Pokémon Company International Trading cards, Funko along with a select other few lower price volume lines The Topps Company Match Attax, PhatMojo CLICK DISTRIBUTION LIMITED Bloxx Fruits, EPOCH making toys Limited Sylvanian Families Blind Bags, Schylling Inc. Bigjigs Toys Ltd Needoh Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe One Piece Trading Cards, Bonkers Toys Character Options Limited Skibidi Toilet Mr Beast Feastables Chocolate and PRIME Energy drinks I have noticed a sheer lack of communication from suppliers over Christmas. Gone are the days of Christmas cards and thankyou gifts from Agents. In fact little no communication from anyone bar one company. The main reason I noticed is this is because my former Mattel, Inc. rep Craig Richards messaged me the day before Christmas Eve to see how it was all going. Funny how a rep who retired shows interest more than people we deal with daily. The one company that have of course checked in on us Character Options Limited where Hayden Partridge has showed an active interest throughout. I’m currently looking at sales for December and 2024 along with Margins. Some of these larger toy companies I feel are gonna have make some serious changes. Not nessessarily on how they help the indies.. but more in how they control what’s going on in the market. My December bloodbath post still rings true right through until today and if something doesn’t change the traditional independent toy store may not be long for this world. It’s adapt or die… but I don’t feel it’s fair independents should have to adapt that much whilst suppliers watch their brands be destroyed in the national chains. Would be really great to get the opportunity to meet with Jellycat at the Spring Fair & Autumn Fair as I feel 2025 and Toymaster Ltd Midco Toys Ltd could be a fantastic opportunity for both parties.

🔍 Googling was yesterday. And today? I am surprised about the “answer machine” Perplexity AI. It takes my research to the next level. 🔎 No, Perplexity AI didn't sponsor me. They bribed me😉. Through the quality of the answers. I can hardly imagine what research was like before, back then, with Google. I get the exact answers I need. With sources displayed in text, graphics and video. Even for facts from German-speaking countries. (Spiegel-Verlag is already a partner.) And these sources are clearly weighted. Perplexity AI is free and also available as a Pro version. I think I will upgrade as soon as I have exhausted the free version. #AI #FutureOfSEO #AIinSEO
