🗞️ EU council updates organic #petfood labeling rules. According to the European Council, the European Union law that covers the rules for #organicfood labeling in human food will now apply to organic pet food #labeling. Under the new regulation, pet food must consist of 95% of #organicingredients in terms of weight. In those cases, manufacturers can label pet food with the EU organic production logo. 

Question - Do I need to eat Organic? It's great if you can buy organic as food can be sprayed with chemicals or pumped with hormones that can cause acne. However, if you don't want to spend extra it is MUCH better to eat non organic fruit and veg than to eat organic processed foods. Here's the "dirty dozen" foods in 2023 that contain the most pesticide residues: 1. Strawberries 2. Spinach 3. Kale 4. Peaches 5. Pears 6. Nectarines 7. Apples 8. Grapes 9. Bell and hot peppers 10. Cherries 11. Blueberries 12. Green Beans. If you do want to buy organic this is the list you should focus on. If you can buy organic meat it is ideal or at least ensure meat is antibiotic free. European Union Changes Organic Pet Food Labeling Requirements New legislation (EU Regulation 2023/2419) published in the Official Journal of the European Union October 18 aligns the labeling of organic pet food with organic food for human consumption, as outlined in Regulation (EU) 2018/848. Among other changes, the EU organic production logo will be mandatory for prepacked organic pet food. Our Good Food Friends -   I’m deluged with e-mail messages from Organic food activists and groups demanding that I “Tell Congress to …”, ”Stop Congress from …”, “Sign THIS Petition”, “‘Just LABEL It!’”, “We need your money to …“, “OPPOSE … “, “Join our struggle AGAINST … “, Tell The FDA …”, “Tell the USDA …”, “Tell the NOSB …”, “Call my Senator” and on and on and on, never-ending.    But all I ever get from the non-organic boys and girls at Kellogg’s®, McDonalds, Coke® and Budweiser® is “The Start of Possible”, “i’m lovin’ it®”, “open happiness™”, “Great Times are Waiting: GRAB SOME BUDS”, “Everything POPS with PRINGLES™” and “LIVE MÁS™”.    They never ask me to do anything other than BUY their stuff … and with a smile!   MODELO doesn’t show you their hops. They just take you to somewhere they know you just kinda want to be. Organic INSISTS on proving up the value of its hops via PowerPoint, but then never ends up taking anyone anywhere.   Sometimes it seems that the only purpose for Organic is that it’s grown ‘organically’, that it protects the environment. The Organic Industry always tries to tell what Organic doesn’t do, rather than SELLING what it WILL DO … TO, and FOR, THE CONSUMER!    People can’t see that the purchase of an Organic Celery cleans a river. But, upon one sip of BAINBRIDGE DISTILLER’S Organic Battle Point Whiskey, they’ll KNOW what GOOD Organics can DO FOR THEM! Oh, YEAH!   For the rest of the Story: https://lnkd.in/e_tGe66T   O’s UP!   To Your Health …ALWAYS!
