Randal Garrett, PhD, FSNS Chief Technical Officer, and Alex Brandt, PhD, FSNS Chief Science Officer, are presenting at #BIFSCO on April 4 in Denver. Join them at 8:30 a.m. MST: Topic: The E. coli Testing Toolbox: Methods for Assessing Process Control, Virulence, and Molecular Confirmation ➡ Overview of testing challenges facing the beef industry with regard to evaluating process control and properly assessing virulence of pathogenic E. coli in samples. ➡ Discuss new developments in testing methods that allow for better assessment of process control without needing to collect additional samples or run additional tests. ➡ New developments in testing technologies to help assess virulence, in particular regard to co-location of stx and eae in single cells. ➡ Strategies for determining molecular confirmation status of samples that produce non-negative results on the initial screens. See you in Denver!

Ozan Taş presented his research on "Enhancing Lycopene Analysis in Microwave-Vacuum Dried Tomato Snack Bars by NIR Spectra and Hyperspectral Imaging." The study compared three method: NIR spectra, hyperspectral imaging, and traditional chemical analysis, for lycopene analysis in tomato snack bars. The research demonstrated that NIR spectra allows for rapid, non-destructive assessments, while hyperspectral imaging provides detailed spatial data, both improving lycopene distribution analysis over traditional methods. #WorldTomatoCongress #LycopeneAnalysis #NIRSpectra #HyperspectralImaging #TomatoSnacks #FoodInnovation #TomatoIndustry #Research #Innovation #EUProject #UNProject #WPTC #WPTC2024 #ISHS WPTC PRIMA Program European Commission

A new year might mean assessing your ways of working. Maybe this means starting fresh or maybe it means optimizing⚙️💡 When Bilthoven Biologicals assessed their system, they decided optimization was the right move. So, how did they do it? They realized could make their new quality system even better with a little help from the team at Epista. Together, the team at BBio (including Martijn Huijbreghs and Natasja Dros) and Epista: ⚙️ Challenged current and future requirements ⚙️ Focused on creating measureable resulta ⚙️ Applied best practices ⚙️ And more In the end, BBio received an improvement roadmap detailing scope and priorities to help their team develop efficient procedures for the Veeva Quality Suite. Want to learn more? Check out the full case story: https://lnkd.in/e6GSMSN5 Special thanks to Rune Jeroen Meijer, Tzong-Yuan Lin, and Anne Bielefeldt for their work on this project! #systemoptimization #veevaqualitydocs #lifescience
