Nuggets for today By Patrick the unstoppable An extract from his coaching and mentorship module for business The Entrepreneur Spirit Entrepreneurial spirit is a mindset that encourages individuals to take calculated risks, explore new opportunities, and create value in the business world. It values innovation, challenges, and a positive impact. This mindset is not limited to those starting businesses but can be found in existing organizations. It values creativity, initiative, and adaptability. The entrepreneurial spirit is essential for success in various areas, including social entrepreneurship, non-profit work, and community service. It drives individuals to think creatively and overcome obstacles.

I starting teaching my UCLA class on Entrepreneurship again to an incredible group of undergrads; and we kicked off the quarter with the amazing Daina Trout, founder/CEO of Health-Ade. She shared poignant advice: 'All of us have have something incredibly special within us, and our ability to understand what makes us most special and to be able to harness it to help others, is key to Entrepreneurship' One of the themes I talk about, is that whether or not someone ever starts a business or non-profit, Entrepreneurship is a state of mind and skill set to navigate how to deal with the unknown. Whatever career path we choose, having that ability makes us more successful.

Launch Tennessee’s Community Partner Program is celebrating the success of its second cohort serving entrepreneurs across the state.⁠ ⁠ LaunchTN created the Community Partner Program (CPP) to provide funding to organizations implementing entrepreneurial support programs and resources in their communities. ⁠ ⁠ After a rigorous review process of 38 submissions from non-profits, businesses, and academic institutions statewide, LaunchTN selected 21 awardees and distributed a total of $196,400. ⁠ ⁠ CPP Cohort 2’s collective impact:⁠ — 44 Tennessee counties reached⁠ — More than 1,400 entrepreneurs served from July to December of 2023⁠ ⁠ Funded projects included: ⁠ — four food and beverage accelerator programs⁠ — two CO.STARTERS cohort-based programs for community-based entrepreneur support ⁠ — tech-based coworking and events⁠ — speaker series and summits⁠ — educational resources for founders⁠ — and other creative initiatives to support entrepreneurs⁠ ⁠ Read more at https://lnkd.in/eNC6UhFF ⁠ #LaunchTN #CPP #entrepreneur #tnentrepreneurs #entrepreneurs

Did you know that the Military Entrepreneur Challenge (MEC) was uniquely designed to solve challenges that military-connected entrepreneurs face? In 2020, researchers for National Survey of Military-Affiliated Entrepreneurs (NSMAE) identified several common challenges for military-affiliated entrepreneurs, to include access to capital and connection with qualified mentors. Through the MEC pitch competition, we are able to grant social-impact start-up capital to veteran and military-spouse small businesses. The MEC also provides speed coaching and networking events to match military-connected entrepreneurs to appropriate industry experts to gain advice, understanding, and knowledge. Our approach for the accelerator program integrated leading strategies in youth and adolescent development with the principles of social innovation and social entrepreneurship.
