The theme for NAIDOC Week 2024 (July 7-14) is for ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud’. This year's theme honours the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture – with fire a symbol of connection to Country, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. “‘Blak, Loud, and Proud’ encapsulates the unapologetic celebration of Indigenous identity, empowering us to stand tall in our heritage and assert our place in the modern world,” says Steven Satour, National NAIDOC Committee Co-Chair. “This theme calls for a reclamation of our narratives, an amplification of our voices, and an unwavering commitment to justice and equality.” CCIWA is proud to partner with and support Indigenous businesses, which are often built on a legacy of cultural pride, strength and shared knowledge passed down through generations.
