Time kills deals!!! ⏳ Expecting candidates to wait over two weeks for interviews, decision making or offers is just not going to work... 😣 If you interview a candidate that you feel is going to be a great hire, then don't delay! Not only will you lose them, but you're giving out a message that your recruitment isn't a priority, which is not the most appealing message to prospective candidates! Make sure you have a robust, transparent and efficient recruitment process in place, so that you can make those decisions and offers quickly. 2 tips from a #DiversityRecruiter to #Recruiters: - When you need more numeric data & in-depth examples, ask for it during the interview. - If the candidate elaborates on a specific experience or skillset that you find less important, simply explain your main focus & ask them to meet you there. Expressing your needs & expectations upfront helps candidates understand where your focus lands, and better target it. Recruiters are different: some love in-depth, others get bored, and candidates build on previous interactions with other recruiters; so it's fine, if not preferred, to share your preference & then judge how your candidate responds to your guidance. Looking for the perfect candidate can be a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be! Statistically, you can use the 33% rule. If you're hiring a new candidate in three weeks, interview candidates for one week, and if you don't find an impressive candidate, then hire the first candidate that meets or exceeds your top choice from week one. The same goes if you have nine applicants, interview three, and then hire the first one that exceeds the first three, on the spot. Earlier this week I asked if you have or would ever not turn up to an interview and when I was looking into this I also read about job seekers reporting how they were ghosted after attending an interview. Have you ever experienced this❔ A survey by TopCV last October reported that 48% of professional job seekers were left in the dark during the hiring process which left 90% of them with a negative opinion of the organisation.
