🌱👶 Build Staff Confidence Engaging with Parents and Carers — Pathway to Better Outcomes for Children.
Parents' involvement is crucial in shaping a child's learning journey, both at home and within educational settings. It significantly impacts children's outcomes, yet for ECEC staff, fostering meaningful engagement with parents requires more than just good intentions. It demands practical skills, strategies, and a deep understanding of family dynamics.
The Parental Engagement and Relationships (PEAR) Training is designed for Early Childhood Educators and Services. Participants will explore essential aspects of parental engagement, from building initial relationships to supporting families through critical transitions.
Why is PEAR training valuable?
🛡 Strengths-Based Parenting️: This module empowers parents as primary educators, fostering a collaborative relationship with educators to benefit the child.
🤝 Building and Sustaining Relationships: Establishing and maintaining strong connections with parents is key. This module provides practical strategies to achieve lasting impact.
🌍 Inclusion and Partnership: The training emphasises inclusivity, ensuring ECEC settings are welcoming to all families, including fathers and extended family members.
🏠📚Enhancing the Home Learning Environment: The home is a child’s first classroom. This module explores how to support parents in creating an enriching home learning environment.
🛤 Supporting Transitions: This module offers insights into easing transitions, such as moving from home to ECEC or from ECEC to primary school, making these moments smoother and less stressful.
🌈 Addressing Childhood Difficulties: Participants will learn to identify and address challenges early, engaging in supportive conversations with parents to ensure the best outcomes for the child.
