Special thank you to our friends at Bank of America who came by and dropped off a huge donation of snacks, art supplies, and books for our Immediate Response program's Feel Better Bags! These bags are used by clinicians to provide soothing activities to children and teens who have experienced trauma. These bags are filled with therapeutic toys or art supplies to help support clients during critical moments. Bank of America is helping drive our mission forward in Richmond. We’re grateful to receive the bank’s support to empower us to continue helping the community!

If you've been considering a donation to a local org during GiveBIG, I'd love your support at my fundraising link for Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound. As a board member, I know just how far a donation of $10, $15 can go to help more youth. The clubs offer a place for growing, learning and playing. BGCSPS also supports amazing things outside of the clubs including Teen Mental Health First Aid training - a program that coaches teens in grades 10-12 or ages 15-18 on how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use, challenges among their friends and peers. Some things to know: - BGCPS served 5,100 young people in 2023 (up 57% from the previous year) - 71% served are Black, Indigenous or people of color - 52% live in single-parent households Give: https://lnkd.in/gS5sqQ56

Justice is relative. Healing is relative. One size doesn’t fit all when it comes to justice and healing. Survivors deserve options, and restorative justice processes prioritize survivor-centered, flexible justice over the rigid framework of the criminal system. Our Restorative Justice Program is launching this Spring! Want to help make an impact? Joining the network with a $250 donation would help our pilot program lead two hours of a facilitated healing circle with those who have been harmed by domestic violence. 💚: https://buff.ly/3FHG53e

Registration is now open for June 22.
We are excited to collaborate with Millennium Health and Blacktop Restaurant Group on June 22 at our surf therapy camp in La Jolla in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. Both groups will bring employee volunteers and Millennium Health will host an information booth to educate our attendees on the topic of fentanyl. This camp is also made possible by donations made by several donors, grants made possible by the San Diego Foundation, and the CA Coastal Conservancy. Thank you to our generous supporters and partners for helping us address, as a unique community collaboration, the mental health needs of our youngest survivors of domestic violence, abandonment, and neglect.

The rise of the internet and social media has created a new landscape of opportunities for predators to target and manipulate vulnerable individuals. The consequences of online exploitation can be severe - including physical harm, emotional trauma, and long-term psychological damage. It is essential that we, as concerned parents and caregivers, take proactive steps to address this issue and ensure that our communities are safe and secure. Our organization is working tirelessly to provide education and awareness programs to children, parents, and caregivers on how to stay safe online. However, we need your help to continue and expand our efforts. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation as part of the GiveLocalNRV Giving Day, or directly on our website at www.safesurfin.org. #internetsafetyforkids #internetsafety #SafetyWhileAccessingTechnology #educateandequip #SafeSurfinFoundation #CyberSWAT #empowerkids #changingonlinesafety #SafeSurfin #protectingkidsonline #savethekids #onlinepredators #internetcrimesagainstchildren #keepkidssafe #ProtectYourKids #ProtectKidsOnline #OnlineSafetyStartsAtHome

Latest update!
Update on Compassion Coffee! Back in 2018, God gave us a vision to start a church with a heart to show compassion to those in need. Compassion Church was born as a result, along with the vision for Compassion Coffee. We started Compassion Coffee because of our deep desire to love our community well. While we currently operate a coffee cart, the dream is to open a brick and mortar coffeehouse! A coffeehouse not only gives us the opportunity to bring joy to Anoka every day through kindness and coffee, but also provides an opportunity to make a practical difference in the community by employing people affected by homelessness. While Compassion Coffee has always been wholly owned by Compassion Church, we’re excited to share that Compassion Coffee is now nonprofit! The main reason for this is that it allows us to share Compassion’s story more clearly and creates more opportunities for people to financially support. Our focus this year is to establish a training program and get the coffeehouse open! As we put time and energy into that, we also need your financial support. We’d love for you to consider a one-time or recurring donation, which is now tax-deductible. Donate here - https://lnkd.in/gmHCq8-v Thank you so much for your ongoing support! We’re confident there are some great things in store for 2024!!

A small amount for you could make a huge difference for children in Norfolk living with grief. Ever find yourself realising you don't make enough use of your monthly subscriptions? Why not cancel one streaming-service and send the money to a good cause instead? https://lnkd.in/euaYHm9W It's really easy to set up, click that link, or scan the QR in the pic, to be taken straight to our regular giving donation page. Setting up a regular monthly payment to Nelson's Journey could help fund so much of what we do here at Smiles House. From our support line, the first point of contact for many people concerned about how a child or young person is dealing with the death of somebody in their lives, to the teddy bear each child is given when closing their final session with one of our Child Bereavement Support Workers, and the therapeautic activity weekends many of those under our service attend, costs for the charity are ongoing. Making a monthly gift for Nelson's Journey not only means you'd be directly supporting bereaved children & young people in Norfolk, you’d also be helping us shape our future too. Did you know that we rely on donations to help support the work we do? Your dollars can make a huge difference in making an independent and fulfilled life possible for San Diego’s blind and vision-impaired community. Help us support the blind or visually impaired who need us more than ever by making a donation >> https://bit.ly/46EARRx We’re committed to empowering individuals who are blind or visually impaired with opportunities to seek independence. SDCB provides the training to those who are blind to tackle challenges successfully every day that are hard to imagine by those with sight. For those who are blind or visually impaired, it takes a lot of adjustment just to manage daily tasks now. How would you cook meals for yourself without sight? Could you cross the street by yourself without sight? Could you use a computer without sight? Please consider making a donation to the San Diego Center for the Blind! Image Description: A close-up of a woman with a big smile in front of a blue background. Overlaid text reads “See how I can be independent ... I learned how to function with my blindness, shift my attitude, and regain my independence.” #SDCB #SanDiegoCenterForTheBlind #Blind #HelpOthersInNeed #MakingADifferenceTogether

Back to School Fundraiser Imagine a world where every individual is treated with dignity and respect. Imagine a world where all schools follow trauma-informed, neuroscience-aligned, neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-driven, and collaborative approaches. At the Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint, we are working tirelessly to make that world a reality. Seclusion and restraint are harmful practices that affect numerous individuals and families, particularly those with children with disabilities, Black and brown children, and children with a trauma history. Our mission is to reduce and eliminate these practices and ensure safer schools for students, teachers, and staff. We need your help to continue this critical work. A gift of: $20 can provide vital support for families. $50 can support training for professionals. $100 can help us develop workshops and advocacy efforts. Your donation, no matter the size, will directly impact our ability to promote positive change and protect those in need. Together, we can end these harmful practices and create a better, more compassionate world. Thank you for your support. https://lnkd.in/eyPpBVqm #EndSeclusion
