#hazardousdrugs “All drugs are toxic at some level, of course. “When we talk about hazardous drugs, we are referring to agents that have some identifiable, established toxicity at a lower dose, typically carcinogenicity or teratogenicity or other developmental toxicities,” Dr. Ganio said. “When NIOSH evaluates a drug for inclusion on their list, they will look at the primary literature as well as sources like DrugBank, DailyMed, the packaging and labeling, and any safety data sheets that exist.” When NIOSH experts make these determinations, “they are looking at the molecule itself, and [whether there] is some sort of hazard [posed],” Dr. Ganio stressed. “They’re not looking at how [the medications] are used in the healthcare setting—that’s our job as stewards of occupational safety.” #occupationalhealth #healthandsafety #pharmacovigilance #cancer #nursing #oncology #pharmacy #SACT #chemotherapy

I love the idea that Emma speaks about how a love for Latin and language helped her... understand 'people'. And that has helped her across her career as a leader. One can succeed in so many different ways. And finding work that you love really allows you to operate from a place of strength. And that is so wonderful. So many of us, may not have 'master-plans'. Particularly 'master-plans' that are strategic. In fact the future is changing so fast, that having a master-plan will become less and less relevant. What will be relevant? Excellence and learning. Excellence unlocks new opportunities. And its hard to have excellence unless we can find ways to enjoy what we do. Hence, the start... discovering what really drives you. And then giving it your all.
