What a momerable show! 50/50 gender parity, tribute to LGBTQ+ community, representation of people with disabilities, focus on #sustainability (at least on the vocal level). And have you seen the video created by #Beyoncé to support Team USA (link in the comments)? She rocks. A lot of great achievements and positive change. Yet there are also darker and more shameful aspects. For example the ban of hijab (wearing hijab should never been forced or banned!). There are 1.7 million #LGBTQ+ employees in the UK, so why are we still allowing #homophobia to be a common issue in the #workplace? Research by LGBTQ+ charity, Stonewall, found that nearly one in five people has experienced bullying from colleagues because of their sexual orientation, almost 13% of the national workforce has witnessed verbal homophobic bullying in the workplace and over 4% have witnessed physical homophobic bullying at work. Under the 2010 #Equality Act, employers are obligated to protect workers against #discrimination based on sexual orientation. Yet these numbers are still this high. We need to be doing more to protect those in the LGBTQ+ community. #LGBTQPlus #HomophobiaAtWork

🏳️🌈 Pride Month - June 🏳️🌈 Pride Month is a time to celebrate love, friendship, and the progress made in LGBTQ+ rights. It commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Riots, a pivotal moment in the fight for gay rights in America and beyond. Pride is an opportunity to focus on Equality, Diversity and Acceptance, and to raise awareness of issues affecting the LGBTIQ+ community. The term LGBTIQ+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer or questioning. It is an important term, although some people may define their gender or sexuality outside this term. The LGBTIQ+ community is more likely to face mental health issues, such as low mood, anxiety, and depression because of the adverse treatment they often experience, for example: Bullying Harassment Isolation Exclusion Victimisation We can help to put a stop to this by: • Celebrating diversity • Not leaving people out • Being kind and friendly • Being willing to listen • Using gender-neutral language Together we can make a difference. 🏳️🌈Happy Pride🏳️🌈 #pride2024 #LGBTIQ+ #inclusion #equality #acceptance #diversity #EDI #HRDirector

Can trust and safety be built in an hour. Probably not!
