#leadership #talkless #listenmore #glasshouse Leadership is not about titles. If you find the need to remind your team what title you hold. You are not a leader. And your team does not see you as a leader. When your “rule with fear” style wears off after a very short period of time you will find yourself in the room by yourself. The talented and experienced team has already left physically or has checked out mentally. The unfortunate ones that remain do so out of necessity for themselves or their families. When you fail to acknowledge the hard working teams around you even for just a moment’s Hello- you are no longer seen as a leader in their eyes. That silence you hear becomes deafening! Leadership is such a powerful yet fragile concept. Some can lead their entire lives without having to tell a single person what role they play in an organization. Yet some must remind not only the teams but themselves on a daily basis of their status within an organization. One of my greatest mentors whom everyone looked up to and never once had to remind anyone who she was said to me “Chris- We all put our pants on the same way (Insert Joke Here) one leg at a time”. She taught her teams what it meant to earn that Leadership title and how to maintain that title over time. Your role as a leader is to create more leaders! #retail #consulting #coaching #smallbusiness #orlando

Great point, Chris! True leadership is fostering growth, not enforcing authority. How do you think leaders can effectively shift from a fear-based approach to a more empowering one?
