🏥 Healthcare workers and the #IT teams that support them are at odds. 👩⚕️ Clinicians (72%) want more influence in #software purchasing decisions. 🧑💻 But IT leaders (60%) and operational leaders (51%) are more hesitant about involving them. Today I was so lucky to meet an amazing woman, Shirley Joseph. Shirley was diagnosed with Stage 4 Inflammatory Breast Cancer in January. She has undergone 16 rounds of chemo and is on radiation therapy round 18 of 30 at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This afternoon, immediately following her most recent treatment, Shirley joined us at Arbella Insurance Group's annual Pink Day event to tell us her story. There was not a dry eye in the house as Shirley recounted the countless doctor's appointments she attended, asking over and over again, what's going on, what's wrong with me? She finally got answers when Dana-Farber doctors diagnosed her with a rare form of #breastcancer. Since its inception, Pink Day has raised nearly $600,000 for cancer care. The money supports Dana-Farber's #mammography van which screened 3000 local women last year and their traveling #skincancer van which provided full body exams to 1000 people this past summer. I've attended this event for 10+ years and I leave more and more inspired each year. Thank you, Shirley, for sharing your journey. It's the end of an era! After 10+ years commuting to Watertown, Greenough Communications is moving to #Boston.
