Sharing a new report from the IIC and the Digital Twin Consortium on "System of Systems Models Enabling Interoperability for Value Creation". Shi-Wan Lin is an old friend from the first days of the #IIC. We collaborated, alongside several other good people, on the original IIC Reference Architecture (June 2015). I contributed the section on #DYNAMIC#COMPOSITION AND AUTOMATED INTEROPERABILITY https://lnkd.in/ergtQDx4. My blog on "#DynamicAPIs - Negotiating Change" is still up on the IIC website - https://lnkd.in/eH7Za45A. I'm glad to see this work is ongoing. These ideas about high-level abstractions connecting complex distributed systems are more important now than ever. The report concludes saying the area is still "nascent", but EnterpriseWeb now has 22 awarded US patents on this subject and we've been implementing solutions for a decade. It has just taken industry a long time to recognize that the fundamental challenge is point-to-point integration and the #silos that result, which inhibit #interoperability, #automation, #AI and business #agility.
