'Wealth isn't just about risk and return. It's also about purpose and impact.' According to the experts at Spear's 500 Live (Nepheli Rigas of UK for UNHCR ; Nicola Johnson of Stewardship; Joe Crome, CAP® of Charities Aid Foundation (CAF); George King IV of MASECO Private Wealth), wealth managers are failing clients by not taking a more active role in facilitating their philanthropic work. This has created a noticeable divide between HNW appetite for giving and the ability of advisers to deliver the necessary guidance. On the #InternationalDayOfCharity, we'd like to extend our gratitude to everybody whose support has enabled us to commit to our promise of fixed quarterly donations to The Water Project for the past eight years. Between 1991 and 2002 Sierra Leone suffered eleven years of civil war, fuelled largely by feuds over the diamond mining industry and the traffic of blood diamonds. Even today, more than two decades after withdrawal, the innocent people of Sierra Leone continue to pay the price of a devastated infrastructure, with only around 10% of the nation's population able to access safe drinking water on a regular basis. This leaves over seven million people to suffer needlessly, walking miles for dirty water that makes them sick. We chose to partner with The Water Project in 2015 because we know that things don't need to be this way; and as an ethical jeweller, we see it as our responsibility to attempt some restorative justice. To learn more about The Water Project's work on the ground, helping to facilitate clean drinking water and sanitation training, follow the link. 💧

For the Community Center and Bloomington Ice Garden: 1. Phased Construction (Phase 1, 2 and 3) 2. Seek corporate and private large donations first 3. Offer naming rights to the highest bidder 4. THEN go to the taxpayer for the difference Vote NO on the Local Option Sales Tax proposals. They encourage overspending and the operating costs will bury us with public-private partnerships to run them.

Reason Three why you may choose to give to Rocky Mountain Wild in these last few days of the end-of-the-year fundraising: Better Public Lands Management. This year, the Bureau of Land Management proposed a Public Lands Rule that would modernize their national policies to balance conservation with other uses on public lands. Alison led a virtual workshop about commenting on the rule and worked with partner organizations to support this important reform.
