It's about DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) which extends beyond social justice. 🤝 Diversity brings a plethora of perspectives and ideas, enhancing creativity and innovation. 🤝 Equity ensures that everyone has access to the same opportunities, often requiring adjustments that acknowledge and address historical and systemic disparities. 🤝 Inclusion involves creating environments where everyone feels valued and empowered to participate fully. In the workplace, diverse teams are known to outperform their homogenous counterparts because they can leverage a wider range of experiences and viewpoints, leading to better problem-solving and more effective decision-making. One of my friends once joked, “at least they are not targeting black people anymore now that they are going for Muslims!” One of the most concerning issues in our society today is the rise of authoritarianism, discrimination and bigotry. It's not just about one group being targeted, it's about the risk of allowing others to become targets too. We are all tired of being "othered" and diversity and inclusion should not just be a box-ticking exercise. It's time to take a stand and say or do something. Let's work towards a society that values and celebrates differences instead of fearing them. #diversityandinclusion

It’s a moment for us to reflect on the progress we've made and the work still ahead to dismantle systemic racism and foster an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. I am from the American South so it is especially important to me that we show that racism, whether subtle or overt, has no place in today's society.
