In urban and land planning it is very common to consider natural rivers 💧 as static artificial channels , ignoring that rivers move and need space around them to adapt to changing external conditions. This idea is causing great damage to rivers (and to people that live around them)! 😕 Which myths are common in your area? Join NN Annual Event on Busting myths!

Excited to share that our #NaturebasedSolutions Compendium is finally here! We’ve put together a handy resource to guide your research or action, wherever you sit on the #climateadaptation spectrum. So, what makes this compendium different? 1. It’s #India-specific, navigating the labyrinth of policy and legislation to show how we can use the existing laws to make nature work for us—especially in our fast-growing cities. 2. It brings in #casestudies from India and other #developingnations, shedding light on how they've cracked the code on the classic #naturevsdevelopment debate (hint: it's not a competition, it's a partnership). 3. It dips its toes into the #financefornature conversation, because investing in low-regret, high-reward NbS projects isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s a smart decision for the future. 4. It showcases key #frameworks to move from theory to practice, turning bright ideas into real-world, on-the-ground impact. The message is loud and clear: #nature is our greatest #ally in battling #climateextremes. We may never fully understand its vastness, but leveraging the bits we can measure and harness is our smartest bet. A huge shoutout to our editor Shayantani C., designer Bhawna Welturkar, and all the other brilliant colleagues who’ve indulged my NbS obsession these past months. Also, this is by no means an exhaustive repository—if there’s something important we’ve missed or you’d like to discuss, my DMs are open. I’d love to hear from you. Happy reading! (It’s 110 pages, lol)

Alone, we go faster. Together, we go further. 📣We're thrilled to announce the start of exchange and clustering activities among the sister #HorizonEU funded projects AWARD_HEU, MARCLAIMED EU, and RECREATE under the HORIZON-CL6-2023-CLIMATE-01 call. ♻Our cluster, #AlternativeWaterResources4Climate, aims to improve the reliability and effectiveness of alternative water resources (#AWR) supply systems and technologies. 💡Policy, regulation, and financing experts from the 3 projects have had their first exchange, focusing on identifying synergies in their policy-relevant work and planning future cooperation activities. We look forward to continuing our #clustering efforts to promote #AlternativeWaterResources across Europe. Stay tuned for more updates! 🌟 #CollaborationInAction #water #Sustainability #climateresilience #horizoneurope

❗❗New article❗❗ 🔍What are the overall positive impacts of an urban project? Why should end users accept and believe in the proposed changes? It is essential to have a holistic and easily understandable view of the multiple benefits of an urban project, accessible to a wide audience. 🚀I’m thrilled to share our new article “Exploring Multiple Benefits of Urban and Energy Regeneration Projects: A Stakeholder-Centred Methodological Approach” 💡The research focuses on the multiple benefits that urban and energy regeneration projects such as Positive Energy Districts and Climate Positive Circular Communities can bring to local territories and communities. We developed a unique engagement and evaluation methodology to not only identify these benefits but also to determine which ones are most important to each category of stakeholders involved in the project. The methodoly is currently tested on the Green Deal ARV and ProLight Project European projects! I want to express my gratitude in particular to the co-authors of this article for their great contribution and guidance Adriano Bisello Marta Bottero Marco Volpatti Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dBcEsNCT #MultipleBenefits #EnergyTransition #ClimateChange #SustainableCities #Research #Innovation #BestWorstScaling #PositiveEnergyDistricts #ClimatePositiveCircularCommunities #EuropeanProjects #ARV #ProLight
