Heard this in my first meeting of the day! “Wise man learns from his mistakes, Wiser man learns from the mistakes of others, The one who has all of the answers and who knows everything, is the fool in the room. “ One of the many reasons I love mentoring the next generation of investors and entrepreneurs because if they take the opportunity to learn from the silly things I’ve done they will be better for it. One of my peers in my role before joining Allied Federal Solutions LLC always used a term from the Bible of “Seek Wise Counsel” which I’m getting better at but always have room to grow. In this new role I’m getting to learn from some brilliant corporate officers on how to build culture, build the right team, and how to serve your team. Onward and upward.

And of course all the partnerships I’ve built along the way.

My friend and colleague, Raffi Andonian, is doing some amazing things. One in particular is a very interesting workshop for small business owners. I fully endorse and recommend Raffi and his wonderful offerings. Please see the attached video and link to learn more about this special program!

Love every bit of this!!! <3 It's okay to accept praise for the ways we've helped others. All too often we (women in particular) dismiss any recognition by saying, "Thank you, but ____," or "It was nothing," or "That's just my job." Embrace ALL your talents! YOU made that happen. YOU listened to someone else's ideas. YOU supported a friend during a hard time. YOU made that goal into a reality. YOU brighten someone's day simply by smiling and saying hello. When you accept praise from others, you are also accepting yourself. God gave you the amazing talent to love and support those around you. Acts of service, gift-giving, etc. are all different outlets for HIS glory to be seen through you. Don't dim your light! You never know who needs to see it. Light begets more light. Let's light up the world together!

Record month... AGAIN?! 🔥 It was only 2 months ago we were celebrating a record month in February - for us to just completely smash those numbers again! April was our best month yet, with written business exceeding the previous record by 10%. The issue of the proposed Foodstuffs merger and the is-it-a-cartel question about their supermarket operations is obviously looming large. Our view: the Commerce Commission needs to urgently investigate what the contractual arrangements are between the cooperatives, so the country can have some confidence that the Commerce Act is being complied with. Tom Pullar-Strecker has an excellent article about the allegations and the denials. Luke and I made it our mission to do more BD together this week, I always think it is easier making BD calls with another member of the team! How to position yourself to be winner? The best position themselves to win, long before the Contest. You can position yourself to win no matter the circumstances. There is always something you can do to improve your current position. Eating well, saving money, sleeping, preparing for the contest, reading and learning, keeping fit. When you master your circumstances, every path is a winner. When your circumstances master you, things quickly go from bad to worse. Over a long enough time horizon, positioning beats predicting.
