What’s in a name? ● Tishman Speyer just unveiled its renaming 666 Third Avenue, 6 Grand Central. ● 452 Fifth Avenue is now 10 Bryant Park. ● Taconic Partners's new development, originally 2 Hudson Street, is now One Grand. ● 22 Vanderbilt, one of today's most sought after buildings in Manhattan, was 335 Madison for years. To me, a lot is in a name. There have been studies that show people named Jack are four times more likely than people named Phillip to live in Jacksonville, and that people named Georgia are twice as likely to move to Georgia compared to other names. In 1990, Dennis was the 40th most common male name in the U.S., yet if your name was Dennis, you were almost twice as likely to become a dentist. Studies also found that in randomized, controlled experiments, people help others with similar names, buy products that match their initials, and are attracted to dates who share their initials. I married someone that shares the same name as me!!! Because there is a push to be near Grand Central, having "Grand" in your building's name helps. Also, who wouldn't want to work near a park? There is now 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10 Bryant Park, instead of all their Sixth Avenue addresses. X Bryant Park sure beats X Sixth Avenue. Naming (and renaming) buildings is a fun aspect of real estate. It's a lever owners and agents can pull to rebrand their building and change the identity of the asset. Given how strongly humans associate with names, I think it's significant. #commercialrealestate #realestate #development #officespace

3D Intimates & Swim Tech Designer @KRSTN NDRSN | 3D Garment Prototyping | Clo3D Process Implementation | Underdressed Podcast
✨ From Paper to Pixels: Embracing the Digital Revolution in Apparel Design✨ Hello LinkedIn community! Today, I want to share with you my journey as an intimate apparel technical designer, and how Clo3D revolutionized the way I work. 📏 The Beginning: The Struggle with Paper Drafting My career began with traditional hand-drafting patterns. While this method had its charm, it was painstakingly slow and prone to inaccuracies. I knew there had to be a more efficient way. 🖥️ The Digital Shift: Exploring Options Wanting more efficiency, I dabbled in Adobe Illustrator, since I was already using it for flat sketches. It was a step forward, but still not the game-changer I was looking for. I needed something tailored for apparel design. My search led me to pattern drafting software, but the high costs of options like Gerber were a significant barrier. 🌐 Discovering Clo3D and Browzwear Then, I stumbled upon Clo3D and Browzwear, and although there was not a lot of information on using them for pattern drafting or product development, they seemed promising. I decided to take a leap of faith with Clo3D, starting with a free trial. 🔥 The Challenge: Initial Hurdles with Clo3D Honestly, it wasn't love at first use. The learning curve was steep, the software often crashed, and I was close to giving up. But after a brief return to hand drafting, the inefficiencies nagged at me, urging me to give Clo3D another chance. 📈 Persistence Pays Off: Overcoming Obstacles On my second attempt, things started to click. My prior experience helped me navigate the learning curve more smoothly, and despite some crashes, I began to create designs faster and, more importantly, enjoy the process! 🤝 Meeting Sofia Sofía Luzón: A Turning Point My proficiency in 3D grew, but I still needed to refine my pattern making skills. Enter Sofia, an amazing mentor who helped me enhance these crucial skills. 🚀 Today: A Freelance Clo3D Designer Fast forward to now, I work remotely with Kristen Anderson, creating 3D prototypes of client collections, and using Clo to increase efficencies accross the development and fitting process. Each project is an exciting new challenge, and I am loving every step of this journey. 🌍 Sharing My Passion I love what I do, and I love sharing how I do it. Check out my freshly updated website wayfinder3d.com, where I showcase some of my favorite client projects. Plus, check out my podcast 'Underdressed' and my course 'Clo3D for Intimate Apparel'! 🔗 Let's connect, share ideas, and push the boundaries of what's possible in our field. If you're curious about Clo3D, have questions, or just want to chat about the world of digital fashion design, feel free to reach out! Thank you for being a part of my journey. Here's to many more years of innovation and creativity in the world of intimate apparel design! 🌟 #FashionTech #Clo3D #ApparelDesign #DigitalTransformation #PatternMaking #FreelanceDesigner #TechInFashion #Journey #Innovation

Phillips always put on a great show 👏 Phillips delivered an impressive performance last week, showcasing the strength of the current David Hockney market. We're used to 100% sell through rates with Hockney in more recent sales but as markets grow, so too does supply and consignment reserves become toppy, it's a natural market dynamic. The Arrival of Spring series garnered significant attention, while Hockney's more intimate works captivated bidders, driving continued market growth into 2024. Despite the macroeconomic challenges of last year, Hockney's print market reached a seven-year high, with a 21% increase in sales value and a 50% rise in lots sold, culminating in £10.5 million from 490 lots. This year will be up again, I have no doubt, and I'd suggest we'll see a marked improvement on the average selling price for an individual print this year, which last year was £21,510. #davidhockney #artmarketheroes #printsandedtions
David Hockney at Phillips London - 19th September 2024 "This sale featured a slight increase in lots from the previous year, including several resales of the same edition, which showed impressive returns on almost all of them. The most sought-after pieces were Hockney's Weather series and his newer digital iPad drawings, which offer more accessible price points compared to others. There was strong demand for the smaller-scale Arrival of Spring prints, both performing above estimates, as well as more affordable portraits of Celia and Johnny. While a few high-value works didn’t quite meet their reserve, it was still a solid sale and proving that high-value lots are always the toughest to move, especially in this economic climate." - Sheena Carrington A full report & round up will be published by the team tomorrow. #davidhockney #artmarket #artauction #art Rebecca Tooby-Desmond Robert Kennan Charlotte Stewart

"When it comes to housing, I think we’re not going to see not a lot of new supply built... It will take time, and governments who are incentivized to give new loans and rezoning will assist in these developments." - Jon Gray NYU School of Professional Studies #WeAreSPS #NYURealEstate #NYUSchack #NYUREIT24 ©Myaskovsky: Courtesy of NYU Photo Bureau

Market Square, Lancaster 1 - Market Square about 1800, showing the premises of T. Satterthwaite, Wine Merchants; Richardson, surgeon; and those once occupied by J. P. Rowlandson, hairdresser who had moved to 57, Market Street. On the right hand side are the offices of the Gas Company which was transferred to the Corporation in 1880. The dilapidated condition of the buildings in the town at this time is obvious from this photograph, but the three that follow, apart from their particular significance, show the improvement to the square.
