We're feeling spicy, but "tender" hearted in #DineGVL. Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack has been giving diners "the bird" since 2009. The Carolina founded, independently owned eatery is casual, family focused and committed to freshness.
Rocky's fried chicken was recently rated #1 in South Carolina by Yelp reviewers, which certainly tempted us to try it.
Greenville location: 420 Laurens Road
Hours: 11am–9pm Sunday–Thursday and 11am–10pm Friday & Saturday.
Rocky's is cult food in it's hometown of Asheville. Before I transferred to Greenville, many of my coworkers loved the place & I know one guy who even took their hot flavor challenge.
I buy salvaged and surplus transformers. My team reconditions them. Together, we keep the lights on for organizations who can’t wait.

Why is 7th Street Burger so popular? And how did a trip to Oklahoma inspire their secret recipe?
In 2020, Kevin Rezvani owned a burger chain called Diesel and Duke, but he wanted a fresh start so he sold all five locations.
This was peak COVID. It wasn't the best time to start a restaurant, but he was confident in his game plan.
Simple menu, cheap burgers, and staying open till 3am on weekends.
7th Street Burger was born.
The zombie shift ended up being a cheat code because instead of $1 slices, bar crawlers and club rats were stumbling into 7th Street.
Word spread and lines were out the door. They were so busy they'd sell a thousand burgers on a Saturday night.
Those late nights came with problems though, brawls started to break out and they had to hire extra security.
Demand was so crazy they had to take their phones off the hook and revamp their operations just to keep the orders flowing.
That system worked, so they took the formula and repeated it all over the city. Now they're up to 16 locations.
But what makes the burger special? And how did that trip to Oklahoma fit into all this?
Kevin took a road trip during COVID which actually inspired his future recipe.
Two specific burgers really impressed him - the Slider Shacks in Detroit, and the Depression Burger in El Reno, Oklahoma. Famous for their thinly sliced onions smashed and cooked into the patties.
That experience gave him the vision for 7th Street and now he's executing it to perfection.

💥 A Guide to Irish Bacon #Rashers 🥓
The rasher has a fascinating history rooted in County Waterford, Ireland, where our operations proudly reside. In the 19th century, Henry Denny, a visionary butcher from Waterford, overhauled the way bacon was prepared and preserved through a vision to transport it overseas.

(Warning: not work related) Where are the best places to get great meats? I got some advice from the most decorated bbq pit master out there.
Just took a friends trip to southern Georgia to learn for 3 days how to make the best bbq from Myron Mixon. And he shared his tips for the best place to buy various meats (same places he buys meat when he does bbq competitions. (FWIW, from a business perspective, I think it would be a very cool, unique spot/group to do a corporate event at if you can make the trek).
For beef he suggested Snake River Farms. Specifically for their American waygu. https://lnkd.in/gNp7zG2g
For pork he suggested Compart Duroc meats. Side note: they’re the only place that he know who will ship you a whole hog for a pig roast. https://lnkd.in/g6PTWnc7
And for chicken they suggested Smart Chicken. Apparently not available in all parts of the USA and mostly in the west. https://lnkd.in/gx9jTvq8
Eat well everyone!
Anyone have recommendations for great places to get fish products?
