Coach, Speaker, Advisor, Board Member, and Author 💡 Develop the Leader Within 🚀 Transform leaders into executives by leveraging the product mindset for EVERYTHING! 🙋 Answer Where To? Where From? THEN Where Next?
I was lucky enough to learn from Melissa Perri directly while she was my boss Produx Labs / Insight Partners and the lessons I gained influence my advice to clients, prospects, and pretty much anyone I meet. She invested a good amount of time in creating this framework for creating a strong product org... it's super solid... I think it's a great assessment tool as well. She well defines the #people #process #product areas in depth which others just mention. Trying to figure what's working or not? The answer is probably more complicated that you think. 🏁 Where to? A product org which performs and communicates well 🔍 Where from? This piece will help you assess that ⏭ Where next? Think about which issues are most pressing and fixing them won't exacerbate others. https://lnkd.in/eE9kQSmq

As a product leader, feature results writeup’s were always my favorite documents to read. So I was thrilled to find Patreon's template: This release is courtesy of Adam Fishman , who led Product & Growth at Patreon for 4 years. I analyzed it in a Miro, which you can find here: https://lnkd.in/dhH4mZC3 I reckon there are 3 key lessons for PMs and product leaders putting together their own templates: 1. A great experiment document isn’t just filled out by the PM. It’s a cross-functional document that has clear ownership points from data science and engineering as well. 2. Create stages in the document. The first 1.5 pages in this template justifies the experiment and requires sign-off from the respective experiment owners in PM, engineering, data science (DS) and design. Then only do you move on to the next stage of filling out the rest. 3. Make it hard to mess up experimentation. There’s so many pitfalls to bad experimentation. And the problem with them is: you end up learning the wrong things, which impede your long-term process. Adding in the clear steps for engineering, for the team to justify why there’s an experiment, and for the team to pre-calculate time to significance ends up paying dividends over the long-run.

Strategic Product Management Leader | B2B SaaS Specialist | 18+ Years of Expertise in Driving Innovation, Efficiency, and Business Impact
2nd session learnings at #ProductCon with Product School came from Purvi Shah about “Mission to Decommission: Importance of Decommissioning Products to Increase Enterprise-Wide Efficiency”. She pointed out the following benefits that came with the decommissioning of a 20+ year old system (cost savings, strengthened data management, and optimized processes). My takeaway is that those outcomes must be sought in an ongoing basis…which is why Business Goals and Product Strategy must be revisited on a regular basis!
