"G.I. Bill" for Israeli University students returning from wartime miluim - or soldiers released from regular army service. I suggest that the government and the universities discuss and agree on an Israeli version of the 1944 G. I. Bill, which provided WWII veterans with funds for college education, unemployment insurance and housing. We must support our miluimnikim and other soldiers who gave everything for the war. They are continuing to serve and many will serve additional time whenever necessary, despite the upheaval caused to their families and careers. The government must go out of its way to be generous, at the same time continuing to build up our resource-base of scientific, technological and tertiary education-based talent. In parallel - in the name of national cohesion and solidarity - I suggest devising a generous program of scholarships for tertiary education for Arab citizens who perform national service. This would serve the related goal of assisting in a "restart" of Arab society in Israel. #israel #army #armyreserve #education #highereducation #academia

From The American Movers Association https://lnkd.in/eszahbz In a soon to be released statement The American Movers Association officially joins the Movers for America Coalition. We also call for a GAO study of the impact the GHC will have on the small businesses that make up the moving industry. In a recent poll of its active member 100 percent of the respondents have declared they will not partipate in military moves under the GHC. 80 percent of the responding have already moved away from Serving our military families with the remaining 20 percent planning on moving to other hauling opportunities . The respondents also noted the Number one reason was the SCA requirements followed by decimated compensation. We have ran independent cost analysis and conclude that Owner operator compensation will fall 30 percent below current compensation levels. If we factor in rising cost of doing business in the moving industry by 2025 the difference will be close to 50 percent. It’s the hope of the American Movers Association that Congress will take action to preserve the readiness, welfare and well being of our military troops.
