Today is National Sorry Day. On 26 May 1997, the landmark Bringing Them Home report was tabled in federal parliament. The first National Sorry Day was held on 26 May the following year to commemorate its anniversary and to remember the grief, suffering, and injustice experienced by the Stolen Generations. It is a day that we can come together as a country to acknowledge the past with empathy, paving the path towards healing and reconciliation in the healing process for the Stolen Generations who were forcibly removed from their family and communities' collective history and the strength of Stolen Generation survivors and to reflect on how we can all assist in healing. Clear Horizon recognises the trauma on survivors and the ongoing impacts on subsequent generations. We urgently need to heal past wrongs—for the well-being of those who were stolen, their descendants who have inherited their trauma, their communities who continue to hurt, and Australia as a nation. The world waits with bated breath for a moment of peace to break out from this horrific conflict of hate. A conflict designed to destroy a land and remove its people from their birthright. A conflict where the worst of humanity have plied their terror without challenge from those who claim to represent the free world. Countries that could and should have protected babies, children and the innocent from the tyranny of Zion!sm and not allow the complete destruction that has been achieved. However despite all of their atrocities, the people remain, steadfast and loyal to their faith. A lesson to the whole of humanity in courage and determination, an example of human dignity and resilience that has created a worldwide resistance movement bringing together all those with humanity to stand together against the evil of hate and the politics of greed across the truly weak nations of the West and East. There is no going back now, nothing will be the same again. While the foolish start to become silent in their defence, the whole will seek the truth of our existence and its consequences when hate is allowed to spread into tragedy. There is much to do and learn from and we all demand a ceasefire and not another word that continues this slaughter. The conditions have been agreed by those being murdered and yet every time the oppressor changes their demands to prolong the killings of babies, children and the innocent. We are all watching now, for their latest response will show how far we have yet to go to end this horror and the designed suffering by those whose criminal insanity has left our shared path. Help us help families survive this terrible tragedy. Please donate and share https://gofund.me/1f7046e8 #notinmyname #gaza #palestine #eyesonusall #evolutionoverrevolution #stopthegenocide

We've all seen posts that start with "if you know someone in an abusive relationship..." But how can we support survivors in a meaningful way beyond just sharing resources? As allies, we need to listen and understand without judging. Let's show empathy and not question their situation. Healing takes bravery, so let's support survivors in whichever way they choose to heal. Regaining power starts with small acts of independence. Let's offer help discreetly so they can make their own choices. Encourage them to become self-reliant through education, rather than depending on others. Connect survivors with communities where they can find strength. Abusers isolate their victims, so we need to create a sense of belonging. Let survivors know that there is life after abuse and that they deserve dignity. Our shared humanity goes beyond labels. Change takes time, patience, and compassion. It starts from within, but communities can help speed up the process. Let's not only provide information but also share stories of hope to show that better days are possible. Remember what you do can make a difference Now go do something. #FamilyMatters #EndAbuse #SupportSurvivors #PreventionIsKey #TogetherForChange

A new journey ahead, all will lead to the one and only goal.. Better world for everyone and especially for my people!
Pay attention! There is no justification for this grave injustice. To the world leaders and every person of influence: there is no reason, in ignoring the suffering of innocent children under occupation. As a,mother, its breaking my heart to see these children crying out for their killed Mother. This is not simply a conflict; it is a humanitarian crisis that demands your immediate attention. Wake up, world—these are not just numbers or statistics; these are lives—innocent lives. The children of Palestine cry out for help, for safety, and for a future. How can we, in good conscience, justify standing by as they endure such suffering? And when these children grow up, how can we expect them to feel compassion for others? Scarred by the trauma of their youth, they may become fighters, and if they do, the world will likely show them no sympathy. The world will forget or ignore the unspeakable pain they have endured. Few will remember that these children witnessed the massacres of their families, and instead, they will be branded as brutal, inhumane murderers. No one will care for them, just as no one cared for their parents, grandparents, or the generations before them. The legacy of our inaction will not end with these children. The future generations, who have been raised on the promises of human rights and democracy, will see the glaring contradiction between these ideals and the harsh reality of what has been allowed to happen. They will question our commitment to justice and our capacity for compassion. What kind of world are we building for them? A world where reason and logic are ignored in the face of suffering, where the cries of the oppressed are silenced, and their plight forgotten? We must act now, not only for the children of today but for the generations to come. The future of our humanity depends on it. We must call for a ceasefire and the withdrawal of occupying forces to their bases. This criminal occupier comes from a country known for its scientific advancements—how can its scientists not see that this injustice and oppression will not only destroy the children of Palestine but will also bring psychological devastation to their own children, who now believe they have the right to kill, steal, and rape without consequence? And in return, there will be those who rise to defend their land and avenge the massacres they endure today! Ah, what a vicious cycle we live in as mere observers! What a crime and audacity it is to violate human beings and their fundamental rights in full view of the entire world, as experienced by Palestinians and their children! And yet, they speak of peace! In my opinion, there are only two possible scenarios: 1. Provoking societies to the point of explosion! 2. Or showing them the iron fist to force submission and complete surrender! Both are equally catastrophic. #Ceasefire #Gaza #SouthLebanon #Crimes #Injustice #FreePalestine #Destruction #Humanity #FutureOfChildren

In the end, what’s in our cup gets revealed for all to see. I came across this analogy a while ago and it’s crazy how squarely it fits current events. You might have heard of it. You’re holding a cup of coffee. Someone bumps into you and causes it to spill. Why did you spill coffee? You might say, “Because someone bumped into me!“ Wrong. You spilled your coffee because you had coffee in your cup. Had it been tea, water or juice in that cup, that’s what you would have spilled. I’m still trying to make sense of the senseless killings in Southport by Axel Rudakubana. It’s a story that will haunt me for a long time. Makes me wonder what was in his cup? Rage, violence, murdurous thoughts. Some thing bumped into him and they came spilling out, leaving innocent children dead, families, communities and country in mourning. We should still be in mourning for those poor babies. We should still be standing with, by and for the grief-stricken families. We should be focusing on and doubling down on the efforts to tackle knife crime. Instead, the Southport tragedy has now been weaponised for the purposes of a more sinister agenda which has evolved into a full blown hatefest. I’m not one to easily fear but the events of the last few days have me shook. Completely shaken to my core. The hate, the vitriol, the hypocrisy, the discrimination, the prejudice, the supremacist tendencies were casually swirling in the cup. We were none the wiser of their vigour until this tragedy bumped into them. Had it been tolerance, compassion, kindness in their cups, we would have a whole different situation at hand. If the fact that children and young people are seen taking part in these riots is not a wake up call, I don’t know what is. Now more than ever is the time to nurture kindness, compassion, inclusion and belonging at the grassroots level; schools, homes and communities This cannot be the look of Great Britain. It’s quite distasteful . Almost medieval. It’s 2024 for crying out loud. Surely, it’s safe to expect the majority of people to engage in objective, critical thinking.

Reflecting on National Sorry Day: Honouring the Stolen Generations Today, on National Sorry Day, I pause to acknowledge the profound grief and suffering experienced by the Stolen Generations. This day is a significant moment in our nation’s journey toward healing and reconciliation, remembering those Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families and communities. National Sorry Day serves as a reminder of the continued need for truth-telling and justice. It is a time to reflect on our shared history and the ongoing impact of past policies on Indigenous communities. By understanding and acknowledging this painful history, we can contribute to a future built on respect, understanding, and mutual support. Lets stand together with the Stolen Generations and commit to playing our part in the healing process. Together, we can work towards a reconciled Australia where the experiences of all are respected and valued. #NationalSorryDay #StolenGenerations #Reconciliation #Healing #IndigenousRights #TruthTelling #CommunitySupport #TogetherForChange #RespectAndRecognition

Today, on National Sorry Day, we pause to reflect on the significance of truth-telling in the journey towards reconciliation. Words hold power, but they alone are not enough to influence meaningful change. It is through persistent, active steps that we can truly pave the way towards reconciliation in Australia. We acknowledge the continued strength and resilience of First Nations People. Let us listen to their voices, amplify their stories, and work together towards a future of healing, reconciliation and equality for all. We acknowledge the injustices endured by First Nations People throughout history, the intergenerational trauma that persists to this day and the profound impact it has had on individuals, families, and communities. We invite anyone who needs support to access this free resource on coping with trauma from The Healing Foundation, via the link below. ℹ️ STATEMENT FROM MUSLIMS IN RAIL ON GROWING THREATS OF FAR-RIGHT EXTREMIST VIOLENCE ACROSS THE UK ℹ️ 📰 read full statement here - https://lnkd.in/e4AycJRx "Muslims in Rail joins other civic organizations in raising alarm about the current wave of far-right extremist violence and civic disorder in the UK, targeting law enforcement, places of worship, and the public. This campaign, driven by misinformation and Islamophobic propaganda, aims to terrorise and harm Muslims. The perpetrators should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for their criminal actions, including rioting, vandalism, looting and violent hate crimes disguised as public protests. Broadcasters, political representatives, and social media platforms must take responsibility to stop spreading malicious misinformation." "We urge all members of the public, passengers or staff who may appear Muslim (or from a Black, Asian or Ethnic Minority background) to exercise safety and caution when travelling during this weekend." • SAFETY FIRST – Check before your travel. Avoid travelling through hate ‘protest’ sites or alone. Call 999 if threatened. • REPORT ISLAMOPHOBIA - https://lnkd.in/ecFj4NJE • MOSQUE SAFETY ADVICE- https://lnkd.in/eXxbvfcX Most importantly, we urge our Rail and Transport partners to support the Police in ensuring safety for everyone, including staff and passengers. Increased visibility, patrols, awareness of emergency protocols, and open communication with community groups are crucial. The heightened threat to vulnerable minority groups, especially Muslims, must be taken seriously. Verbal and physical attacks, particularly against women and the elderly, are a real concern. We oppose all discrimination, hate speech, and violence towards anyone based on their protected characteristics. Let's unite to celebrate diversity and encourage dialogue. Promoting peace among different faiths is crucial for strong, inclusive communities. We urge everyone to engage in constructive conversations and reject actions that promote division or intolerance. Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of all those affected following the tragic loss of innocent lives in Southport. Please support the bereaved families via donating to this appeal - https://lnkd.in/eC8b9Hpe

This month is #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth, a cause I feel very strongly about 💛 Advocacy for people experiencing DV takes many forms, from initiating open and honest conversations to supporting local charities dedicated to making a difference (I have listed some below). Equally important is recognising the signs of domestic violence and knowing how to respond effectively to support those in need. One of my clients, DV-alert offers essential DV awareness training for frontline professionals such as healthcare practitioners and teachers. Nurses, doctors, carers and educators hold a trusted position with people in the community, often having patients or pupils coming to them with their most sensitive concerns. For these people having the correct training and knowledge of how to support, respond and facilitate help for people experiencing DV enhances their ability to provide proper care but also has a ripple effect of empowering more people to stand up for those in need.
