Diversity in clinical trials is essential to understanding a treatment's effectiveness across different populations. 🌍 Check out how a recent study highlights the representation of various groups in trials conducted at National Cancer Institute (NCI)'s Center for Cancer Research. “By including every population in a clinical trial, you can have higher confidence to say who will benefit from a certain therapy,” explains Charalampos “Harris” Floudas, M.D., DMSc, M.S., Assistant Research Physician in the Center for Immuno-Oncology. Dr. Benjamin Stanton at The Research Institute at Nationwide and his team have published the first comprehensive 3D analysis of the #rhabdomyosarcoma genome. This 3D analysis helped them find factors that control how the cancer grows and how certain genes work together. This breakthrough could lead to better treatments for this challenging #cancer. The 2023 grant for this research is supported by Berry Strong, a St. Baldrick’s Hero Fund honoring Caroline, who bravely fought rhabdomyosarcoma and raised awareness for childhood cancer #research.
