Offsites are more than just in-person meetings. They provide a unique opportunity to strengthen our team bonds, align everyone towards our common goals, and deeply engage with the values that drive our business. During these meetings, we get to know each other beyond the screen, sharing moments that help us understand how each team member excels in their role. These meetups give us an extra boost. They help us share ideas, collaborate better, and come back feeling more united and motivated. Our offsites allow us to collectively innovate, collaborate, and reinforce the core values that define us as a company. They are key to building a cohesive, motivated, and forward-thinking team. It's natural for teams to sometimes lose track of their collective goals and sense of unity. When that happens, it's important to take steps to reconnect and realign. Communication is key here; having open and honest conversations about the team's objectives, challenges, and individual concerns can help rebuild that sense of camaraderie. Team-building activities, both formal and informal, can also be beneficial. These activities can range from simple icebreakers to more structured events aimed at fostering trust and collaboration. Ultimately, maintaining a shared vision and understanding of each other's roles and contributions can help reinforce the team's sense of unity and purpose. Sun's out guns out, time for team building. And that’s a wrap…. Evidence that we really are #StrongerTogether. This week we concluded the last of our team building events in Chicago (pics include Indianapolis event as well). So what are my biggest takeaways from the past 6 weeks: 1. You can’t substitute in person engagement. Virtual has its place but the personal connections made are the foundation of strong relationships and creating a team environment 2. The importance of sharing individual perspectives to connect our teams with our Purpose, Values and Vision 3. Combining new professional and personal experiences in team building events are way more impactful, fun and memorable 4. You can never know enough about your team! Happy new year everybody! 🎉 And welcome to the first #learningOfTheWeek in 2024. 😁 While preparing kick off events for several teams which took place this week, I consulted the Tuckman model developed in 1965 by Bruce Tuckman, consisting of 4 stages which are forming, storming, norming and performing. Later, a fifth stage "adjourning" was added. However, all teams start at the *forming* phase. In this phase, the talents of the team just met. There are a lot of unknowns about the purpose of the team, the mission, how collaboration might work, etc.. Everyone reacts different in such situations and it is important to take everyone with you on the journey. ⛵ As this was the first time I actively applied the Tuckman model, my key learning was how helpful the model is and how well the kick off events went. For each team, I created an overview containing answers to the following questions: - Why are we here? - What is the greater goal? - Who is in my team and which roles do they have? - What are my responsibilities? - Where can I get help? - What are the first goals in the next two weeks? - What are the goals in the next three months? We officially kicked off our May Challenge of "Building Your A-Team". Here’s how to participate in this month's challenge. Make a comprehensive list of everyone that you need on your bus.  List who you have on your team now and where the gaps are. Create a hierarchy list of who is the highest priority to get on the bus. Define the roles and responsibilities for each person Start having conversations with prospective team players Remember your "A-Team" can also be composed of peer advisory groups such as EntrePowerment, mentors/advisors, coaches, consultants, strategic partners, interns, virtual assistants… Make this the month that you gain clarity on WHO you need to build your empire! “If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together” 58:57

Celebrating my high-powered client who successfully negotiated more time for herself outside of work!  🥳 She successfully moved from working (more than) full time to 3 days a week in the office (and 1 remote)!  This was a big move, as she is at the pinnacle of seniority in her global company. But, she is READY!  ✅ She knows her value. ✅ She knows her strengths. ✅ She knows that she wants more out of life than her 25 years of working for this (wonderful) company. So, this shift is HUGE! It will let her spend EVERY weekend as a lovely  looong weekend at her second home in the mountains! 💎 It will let her hike and travel with her spouse. 💎 It will let her pay attention to her health at the right level. 💎 It will let her dig into her zones of expertise and interest to contribute in new and specific ways to the company. All women I work with are SO accomplished in work and in life. AND 😎 They no longer choose to over-hustle. 😎They no longer choose to do work that no longer interests them. 😎 They no longer feel the need to prove themselves. (Because they already have!) They are READY to let themselves reap the harvest of all their hard work, and start choosing themselves first. 🥳 Now, that isn’t to say that your job, company, work, role can’t be your main focus.  Work can be a source of wonderful engagement, joy, accomplishment and purpose. And, Sometimes, you KNOW you are ready to take it back a notch and try something different. 🌼 Something that lights you up more. 🌼 Something that lets you create space and time for new passions to appear and evolve. 🌼 Something that allows you to feel you are living your life, YOUR way!
