Happy Youth Day to our Moroccan network! Youth Day is a public holiday in Morocco on August 21st each year Celebrated on the date of the reigning King's birthday. After independence was achieved in 1956, Youth day was proclaimed as an official national holiday to remember the contribution of youth in the struggle for liberation. It is also a day to celebrate the younger generation's contributions to the strength of the Kingdom. This day reminds us that investing in education, empowerment, and opportunities for young people is investing in a brighter and more prosperous Morocco. #CLMMorocco #CLMSearch

#EducateMyVillage: A New Model for African Development One of Africa’s greatest challenges is the lack of access to quality education. Despite numerous efforts from governments, multilateral institutions, and philanthropists, access to education remains a dream for over 98 million children in Africa and 800,000+ in Zimbabwe alone. Africa’s premier institution, the African Union, has prioritized education by officially declaring 2024 the “Year of Education,” calling on all governments to accelerate progress towards achieving quality education for all. This is why I am excited to note the new model for intervention in education introduced by Annot Inc., harnessing Africans and the African diaspora contingent. With over 220 million African diasporans across the world , only 40% of them are enough to eradicate the lack of access to education in Africa. This new model for development is rooted in the African virtues of caring for one another and being there for one another, embodying the principle “I am because we are.” To read more about the #EducateMyVillage initiative, check out my article on: https://lnkd.in/ehikBJWy UNESCO Global Partnership for Education UNICEF The World Bank

Pleased to share that we featured in a recent @USAID article, published in June, that highlights the urgent need for tailored support to help refugee youth access higher education. "Refugee youth require specific Guidance to access higher education opportunities." - Ben Webster, Mosaik Education Our student-led Guidance Programme workings alongside young refugees, supporting them to make progress on their educational journey. Tapping into the power of peer support, refugees participate in workshops facilitated by Mosaik Alumni - graduates who’ve been through the programme and have faced similar challenges. This unique approach allows them to share experiences, resources, and strategies for success. “Mosaik Education provides guidance services in Jordan, Lebanon, Uganda, and Egypt using a student-led model that helps refugees navigate the range of online courses and scholarship opportunities. This approach emphasises the important role that higher education institutions play in recruiting and integrating refugees on campus. It ensures that scholarship programs are both accessible and effective for refugee students.” Explore the full @USAID article to learn more about the challenges and opportunities involved in expanding higher education access for refugee youth: https://buff.ly/3SQRVyO #Leadership #MosaikAlumni #MosaikEducation #RightToEducation #EducationForAll #HigherEducation #Education #Learning #DisplacedPersons #RefugeeForum #RefugeeEducation

In celebrating Africa Day with the Theme: Education Fit for the 21st Century, we bring to our information a misconstrued African proverb "A home without a woman is like a barn without a yam", that if we applied without patriarchy to our cultural beliefs and practices as well as our sociopolitical culture Africa will be of great benefit to the Africa We Want Agenda. An African continent decision making without the full inclusion of women will produce a half baked policy. This is our number education fit for the 21st Century. In light of that principle, the exclusion of widows populations in policies and allocation is a practice that must end. Hence the mission of The African Widows Summit Widows Inclusion is now!!! Make it a date, 20th - 22nd June 2024, in Zanzibar, Tanzania. 👉 Be part of history, register to participate https://lnkd.in/gvgrFubS To know more, contact: 📞+𝟮𝟯𝟰 𝟴𝟬𝟴 𝟬𝟮𝟱𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟰 +𝟮𝟯𝟰 𝟴𝟭𝟳 𝟲𝟭𝟯𝟴𝟮𝟵𝟬 +𝟮𝟯𝟳 𝟲𝟳𝟬 𝟮𝟱𝟬 𝟳𝟱𝟳 +𝟮𝟱𝟱 𝟳𝟭𝟲 𝟮𝟭𝟰 𝟲𝟴𝟬 #theAfricanWidowsSummit #taws24 #taws_africa #theAfricaWeWant #Africanunion #widowsinclusion #widowsagenda #awidowswindowafrica #AfricaRising #Agenda2063 #africanwidowsunion #Africanwome #sustainablefinance #healthinsuranceadvisor #AfricaDay #yearofeducation

While education is the largest public expenditure in #Africa, financing remains insufficient and often ineffective. According to UNESCO, getting all African children in school will require 9 million additional classrooms to be built (or approximately $100 billion investment), and 9.5 million additional teachers to be recruited and trained. To mark this year's Day of The African Child, we, along with other members of the Joining Forces Alliance, call for increased investment in education while ensuring the efficient use of resources to reap maximum returns. https://lnkd.in/d5TpjSMz #EducationforAll #Africa #DAC2024 #DayofTheAfricanChild

Marking the 6th International Day of Education has a special meaning for us at Womanity, especially as we reflect on our journey in educating girls, which began in Afghanistan back in 2007. We have dedicated our efforts to challenging deep-rooted gender stereotypes and advocating for education as a means to a better, brighter future. The urgency of our mission is underscored by alarming UNESCO statistics. 🛑 Worldwide, a staggering 122 million girls are out of school. 🛑 Women still account for almost two-thirds of all adults unable to read. 🛑 Girls living in conflict and crisis areas are 90% more likely to be out of school. Ensuring girls are educated is particularly challenging in conflict-affected regions. In Afghanistan, decades of conflict have severely limited girls' access to education. The civil wars in Syria and South Sudan have taken a toll on education, with women and girls especially vulnerable to violence. More recently, Gaza has experienced a complete lack of educational opportunities. Educating women & girls not only empowers individuals but also serves as a cornerstone for building peaceful societies and stable economies. By recognising education as a fundamental right for all, particularly girls, we equip them with the tools to meaningfully contribute to their communities, foster social harmony, and drive economic growth. The ripple effect of educating girls extends far beyond individual empowerment, creating a foundation for a more peaceful and prosperous world. Education is one of the most powerful tools we have in our arsenal to promote world peace. Because with education, comes knowledge, power, safety, security, and peace. And now, more than ever, we need to raise and nurture a generation of peacemakers.👩🎓🕊️ #EducationForAll #InternationalDayOfEducation #EducateForPeace #Womanity #EducationDay

🌍 Positive Insights on Education in Libya 🇱🇾 I'm excited to share my latest observations and insights on the Libyan education system, where I have had the privilege to teach for the past year. ⚡️🏆The First Ukrainian School in Poland by the Unbreakable Ukraine Foundation, which emerged as a charity school in March 2022 and now serves 1,500 Ukrainian refugee children in Poland, has won the World’s Best School Prize for Overcoming Adversity 2024. Vikas Pota Founder of T4 Education and the World’s Best School Prizes, said: “It is my great honour to bestow upon The First Ukrainian School in Poland the World’s Best School Prize for Overcoming Adversity 2024. In the darkness of war, you light a candle and give hope to the next generation. This prize recognises you for the lives you have changed and for the future they will go on to build. “It is my hope that governments now look to your shining example to see what can be achieved when education seeks to tackle some of the greatest challenges our societies face.” “We aimed to create a transition school where students would restore their psychological wellbeing and adapt to a new country and language at their own pace, without experiencing learning losses. The institution has been operating for the third year, in the 2024 academic year, out of 160 graduates, more than 150 entered Polish higher education institutions, and every year from 30% to 50% of students successfully transfer to Polish schools,” explained Viktoriia Osadcha, President of the Unbreakable Ukraine Foundation Despite this, the number of 1,500 students is always stable, because the need for such a transitional school persists to this day with the influx of new refugees as Russia occupies more and more territories in the East of Ukraine, as well as due to the unsuccessful experience of students' integration in Polish educational institutions. More than 4,000 students have studied at the school since it was established.
