Did you know that half of women in the U.S. are single due to being widowed, divorced, or having never married? If you, as a charity leader can identify and speak to the unique needs of women, the opportunity exists for you to empower their giving, legacy planning, and finish-line focus in dramatic ways. Legacy may mean something entirely different to them than it did to their parents or their spouses. In this webinar, we’ll consider what it looks like for charities to serve women givers with greater intentionality and understanding – especially engaging those who are going it alone. The brilliant Rebecca Gill, CEO of Rosa Fund talking on BBC Radio ahead of last night's documentary, "Sarah Everard: The Search for Justice": "When the documentary is aired, there will be some very, very tough questions for the Police. There are also some tough social questions that we have to answer - why is the number of women who experience violence at the hands of men not reducing? Why are so many young women being exposed to so much misogyny online? There is a huge social challenge here that we are all part of solving. Women's and girls orgs are a critical part of that solution, the Police are part of that solution - we are all part of that solution." All credit to Frankie McCamley and the team for bringing this harrowing but important documentary together which is now available on iPlayer: https://lnkd.in/eAwtVRWx

Men of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire - we need your help... Juno Women's Aid is currently fighting what the National Police Chiefs' Council describes as an "epidemic of offending", with a recent report showing a 37% increase in violent crimes against women and girls since 2018. In total, the charity has supported nearly 3,000 women and more than 500 children in the last year - up six and nine per cent respectively on the previous 12 months. Tasarla L., Yasmin Rehman and the team do an incredible job but they need more support, which is where #Notts500 comes in. The idea behind #Notts500 is two-fold. On a fundamental level, it's asking men for a £2 per month donation to the charity to help fund its vital work supporting survivors of domestic violence and abuse. But beyond that, it's about starting the conversation. It's about enabling change and making sure we raise the next generation in the right way. As men, we have a responsibility to hold each other to account and tackle the spiral of domestic violence – we want #Notts500 to be a conversation starter that leads to real change in terms of attitudes, outlooks and awareness. I'm incredibly proud to stand alongside Kevin Smith, Amani Darr and Al Booth as ambassadors for this campaign, and I would urge all men to pledge that £2 per month and be part of the change. https://lnkd.in/eqteSvxC
As part of our ongoing support of Juno Women's Aid, our director Tom Snee has been named as an ambassador for the newly launched Notts500 campaign. The initiative calls on 500 men across Nottinghamshire to pledge £2 a month in support of women and families affected by domestic violence. In the photo, Tom is joined by fellow ambassadors Kevin Smith of Marchini Curran Associates - Architects and Designers, TDX Group's Amani Darr, Notts TV presenter Al Booth and Tasarla Larner, Juno’s fundraising and communications manager. As Tom puts it: “While the money raised will be of huge support to the charity’s ongoing essential work with survivors, the Notts500 campaign is as much about advocacy and ensuring that conversations are being had and action is being taken.” Join us in standing up to violence against women - pledge your support today and make a difference. 🔗 Join the campaign here: https://lnkd.in/eregYfjX #Notts500 #StandAgainstViolence #JunoWomensAid #EndDomesticViolence

👋🏽 On a mission to close the pay gap by closing the networking gap. CEO // Tech Founder // Speaker // Podcast Host // Goldman Sachs 10KSB Alum
🛑 Small Business & Charities - BE WARNED 🛑 When big businesses prioritize profits over customer service – we pay the price. It's hard to describe the disappointment we felt as we watched 6 long months of work come to a complete halt in 4 short hours. We had just launched our Together Foundation, a testament to Together Digital's dedication to breaking down barriers and fostering inclusivity in our growing community of collaborative and powerful women in digital. Its mission is to provide valuable content, a supportive community, and membership opportunities for women who may need more support but find membership dues out of reach. After providing our 501(c)3 IRS and our non-profit bank account statements, as requested, donors were denied the ability to donate further after only three donations were cleared. Apparently, regardless of whether you are a small business or charity, PayPal can decide, without warning or recourse, that if they feel your business transactions are unsafe, they can cancel your account and freeze your funds—holding them for up to 180 days. And no, they will not tell you what transactions or why. Thankfully, these are charitable funds that will go toward granted memberships. However, if you are a business that uses PayPal payments as operating funds, I can only imagine the devastation this might cause. Our emails since Friday have gone unanswered; since then, I have heard of countless others that this has happened. I understand the need for safety and security, but the complete lack of notice, recourse, or support is appalling and shows their business priorities. THE GOOD NEWS: I am happy to announce that we have found another solution and are exploring additional partners (thanks to our amazing community). I look forward to moving forward from this and empowering more women–but it would be remiss not to share. Please join me in empowering more women in digital—donate or apply to the Together Foundation today.
