GAINING TRACTION
This past Friday, our HFW Industries, Inc. leadership team had our second quarterly off-site meeting.
It was a good time to take a step back from the business and have a full, uninterrupted day to thoroughly discuss our challenges and opportunities.
We are in our infancy when it comes to implementing EOS. Leading this process is exciting but intimidating. I love the challenge.
At Friday’s meeting we each shared our Personal Leadership Philosophy (more to come about this), discussed key issues we’d like to address, reviewed our goals from the past 90 days and set new ones for the next quarter.
It was a productive meeting, though I’m still learning how to run these off-sites.
The rigid Type A in me wants us to strictly adhere to our pre-set agenda.
However, I’ve learned that the genius of getting everyone in a room for a day is the insights that are generated when the conversation runs. It is a balance.
My goal now is to take our discussion points and help us execute on our action items over the next 90 days (easier said than done!). Quarter after quarter, this will set us on a great path.
I’m still figuring out the mechanics of EOS and our more routine focus on strategic planning at HFW. What I can promise is that this renewed focus is to the benefit of all HFW stakeholders. Stay tuned for future updates!
Thanks to Tom, Scott, Peter and (of course) my father and grandfather for buying into this journey we are on.
