St Leonards v Parramatta: The Battle to Become the BTR Capital of Sydney Another prime St Leonards site is awaiting feedback from the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for 250 + build-to-rent housing units. Envisioned to rise above 40 storeys, the plans propose a sophisticated mix of BTR units, alongside curated commercial and retail spaces. The inclusion of key worker housing in the plans amplifies the project's commitment to social equity, ensuring that essential service providers have access to quality, affordable housing within the community they serve. To facilitate the project, amendments to the Lane Cove LEP are being sought concurrently to change the land use zone and increase the building height to 155 metres. This BTR project follows a recent 60 + storey BTR project lodged with the same authority in Parramatta. Find out where both BTR projects are by subscribing here to our weekly digital journal: https://lnkd.in/gzNEX4k5

The Motorway Map of Britain: The story of how this country was built from the ground up - by filling in a map of Britain's transport networks through the ages, and focusing on the UK's love-hate relationship with motorways. Since their fitful start in the 1950s, through the glamour of the swinging 60s, and the backlash against urban planning gone mad, we chart the progress of these epic engineering projects as they came to dominate our landscape. https://buff.ly/3TxVYRB

Good shares to own
What a start we’ve had to 2024! It was a busy January for all of us at Kier, with some incredible work being done by teams from across the business. As we move into February, we wanted to share just a few highlights with you from our year so far: ⭐ We broke ground at Combe Valley Hospital, a 54-bed mental health hospital in Bexhill, being built on behalf of the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. ⭐ We have been appointed to the £3bn SCAPE Utilities Works and Services framework, giving us more opportunity to help new clients across a variety of sectors with their decarbonisation efforts over the next four years. ⭐ Our HMP Millsike project for the Ministry of Justice UK has scored 47/45 in the Considerate Constructors Scheme – securing full marks plus additional points for collaboration and innovation. ⭐ Construction has started at Logistics City Bracknell, Kier Property's 104,000 sq ft site in Bracknell – which we aim to make net-zero carbon in operation. ⭐ Croydon University Hospital’s new intensive treatment unit officially opened, built by Kier for Croydon Health Services NHS Trust and offering new facilities to patients in and around Croydon. ⭐ The Little Singleton bypass opened to users in late December, a key milestone in our Transportation division’s major A585 upgrade project for National Highways. From our framework partners, to our clients, consultants, supply chain and local residents who are helping us deliver these projects and leave a legacy, thank you.
