With the UK's highest first time fix rate, its rare for a Guardsman technician to come back to finish a repair but on the occasions where a new part is needed it will usually be the same technician that carries out the repair. Why is this important? 1. Familiarity for the customer - having a stranger in your home can cause anxiety for some people, so seeing the same face will put them at ease. 2. Familiarity for the technician - they will already know the house layout and be familiar with the furniture item already so can get to work quickly finishing the repair. 3. Saves time and provides consistency - the same technician will be aware of the claim and what is needed, will know where the house is located and will be aware of any special requirements that the customer may have. 4. Guardsman technician's have set territories which allows them to also build a relationship with the retail partners in their area and provide support to them for any in-store warranty repairs For consistent, quality repairs why not get in touch with our Head of Sales Zeyn Kassam to find out about how we can help. . . . #buildingrelationships #firstvisitfix #highestrateintheindustry #industryleaders #weknowhow #weworkinpartnership #ourtechsarethebest #bestofthebest #strongnetwork #guardsmanteam #workwithus #partnershipapproach #furniturerepair #consistency #consistentrepairs #warrantyrepairs #takingcareofcustomers

Work At Height Safety Trainer - In Partnership With Group 583 - IWH (Institute For Work At Height) at VISCAR INDUSTRIAL CAPACITY LTD
What should employers do? (Provide the right training to its employees working on any heights) v They should make sure work is properly planned, supervised and carried out by competent people with the skills, knowledge and experience to do the job. They must use the right type of equipment for working at height. v They should take a sensible approach when considering precautions. Low-risk, relatively straightforward tasks will require less effort when it comes to planning and there may be some low-risk situations where common sense tells them no particular precautions are necessary. Control measures Employers should first assess the risks. Factors to weigh up include the height of the task, the duration and frequency, and the condition of the surface being worked on. Before working at height they should work through these simple steps: 1. Avoid work at height where it’s reasonably practicable to do so; 2. Where work at height cannot be easily avoided, prevent falls using either an existing place of work that is already safe or the right type of equipment 3. Minimize the distance and consequences of a fall, by using the right type of equipment where the risk cannot be eliminated. For each step, always consider measures that protect everyone at risk (collective protection) before measures that only protect the individual (personal protection). Collective protection is equipment that does not require the person working at height to act for it to be effective. Examples are permanent or temporary guardrails, scissor lifts and tower scaffolds. Personal protection is equipment that requires the individual to act for it to be effective. An example is putting on a safety harness correctly and connecting it, with an energy-absorbing lanyard, to a suitable anchor point. "We extended an offer to him yesterday and were hoping to have an answer by now. We're looking for someone in this role who is decisive, maybe he's not the right person for us." 🙄 Unless you're hiring for a bomb squad technician, having a candidate take a few days to respond on an offer should be seen as an overwhelmingly positive reflection of their decision-making ability. Changing jobs is one of the most impactful and life-altering decisions that we make throughout our lives. For someone to give an instant answer on such a substantial decision, I would seriously question how much thought they're going to put into menial work tasks. When extending offers, provide a MINIMUM of 2-3 business days for a response. Anything less than that and I'd start to question the company's decision making much more than the candidate's. #HappyHunting

Want to know what our technicians think about working here? We asked technicians from each location, and here's what Mike said from our Charleston, SC, team! "The culture here is accepting and welcoming, and people take care of each other. Other companies I've worked for, it was: you come in, do your job, and get out of there. Here, any issue, personal or work related-it doesn't matter. People here band together and take care of you." One of our philosophies at Total Comfort Solutions is ensuring we have the "right people in the right positions.". Our hiring process is set up to find people who are excited about a culture that fosters personal and professional growth and who care about the well-being of others. #TotalComfortSolutions #LincService #culture #employees #hiring #familyoriented #caring #professionalgrowth #personalgrowth #wellbeing #workculture #tradejobs

More about our rope access team (warts and all!) 🏙 🌇 🌅 📢 To kick off a series of posts on our rope access techs, we hear from our Rope Access and Compliance Manager, Calvin Bradley. Over the last few years, the amount of rope access work we do has grown due to demand; we are fortunate to have a highly skilled professional team whose expertise we can rely on to deliver safely and efficiently every time. #ropeaccess #abseiling #IRATA #workingatheight #teamwork #teamfocus #moreaboutus 1) Why/how did you become involved in rope access? I moved into the industry after leaving the military. I enjoyed working at height and had plenty of experience, but no formal industrial qualifications. I then followed a similar career path as many IRATA qualified technicians and learnt plenty along the way about working safely in London, which is obviously an extremely busy city. One major difference between working at height in the military and working at height in civvi street is taking public safety into account, as this is a major part of the job. 2) What do you love about it and why? I love the challenge of identifying the most suitable method of access when working on a building. There are many factors to consider, with health and safety being at the forefront of any decision. 3) Many people reading this might wonder whether you ever experience fear? If so, how do you deal with it? I believe that if you have the right level of training along with risk assessments, method statements and rescue plans in place that are specific for the task, then there won't be anything to fear. At Building Transformation we have a great Health and Safety culture, great people, training and equipment. 4) What is/was your favourite project? That's a hard question to answer as we have some fantastic clients who push us to deliver excellent service. We have many different projects that each bring their own unique challenge and different methods of access.
