These include products that will help conscious consumers on their sustainable living journey such as zero waste starter kits, plastic-free dental care, food reusables, chemical-free cleaning, gardening, natural hand and nail care and stationary made from recycled materials. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: To allow ease for consumers to receive eco friendly swaps directly to their homes. Different themes allow customers to go green gradually without the overwhelm. By supporting small businesses in the UK, Between Green reduces the carbon footprint of products provided. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲: When Jodie originally started her business, showcasing at artisan markets and events. But when Covid-19 hit, she transitioned into offering a subscription box service and Between Green had completely adapted, making the subscription box their main offering now. Our Senior Sustainability Consultant here at The Sustainable Restaurant Association Ellie Harrison is here to break it down for you! 🔄 Circularity is all about consciously using fewer resources, designing long-lasting and reusable products. Once these products are in use, the goal is to extend their lifespan by reusing, up-cycling or finding alternative uses. 🔄 There is no waste in nature and so the best circular solutions are typically inspired by nature. Regenerative agriculture follows circular principles by reducing inputs (like pesticides and fertilisers) and using naturally occurring resources (like earthworms) that have myriad benefits and don't create waste. 🔄 The F&B industry wields significant influence over global food systems, impacting climate change, biodiversity, soil health and more. If the entire sector opts for circular practices, it could transform our food systems. 🔄 To achieve circularity, the F&B industry must identify its key waste-streams and target these hotspots. Designing products for circular use and engaging with growers and stakeholders up the value chain will likely yield the highest impact changes and most efficient resource use. We’re celebrating the United Nations #WorldEnvironmentDay! 🌎💚    This World Environment Day, the TBI team have come together to reflect on the positive things they do day-to-day to be more environmentally friendly, offering great insight and tips:      Lynne Miller: For both social trips, and work meetings I always take my reusable water bottle with me, and I feel like I’m making really good progress in reducing paper usage in my home office. Mithu Lucraft: Being a home-based worker over the past few years, collaborating almost exclusively through digital meetings, has helped to reduce my carbon footprint. I also try to print a lot less and work digitally wherever possible! Sally Wynn-Jones: When I walk my dog I always pick up any litter I see, it is one of the things I still remember being taught about in primary school in the 80’s!     I am also a strong believer in shopping locally and sustainably, minimising waste, conserving water, and walking everywhere whenever possible!    Kelly Henwood: So, I decided to get my children’s take on this question. After lots of discussion, the two suggestions that stood out to me most were: ♻️ Leaving the car behind when we can and opting to walk or use scooters/bikes instead. ♻️ Having just returned from the coast and being big lovers of the sea, we will always pick up litter around the water/beach to protect the animals that might otherwise come into contact with it. Amelia Jones: As Tesco would say, ‘every little helps’. I’m making ‘little’ but long-term changes to my weekly shop, opting for more sustainable household items including:  ♻️ Biodegradable bin liners and doggy bags  ♻️ Hand wash refill pouches  ♻️ Laundry detergent specifically for cold washes Ella Gunn: I always try to shop wisely and will only buy line-caught fish. I saw a documentary explaining the harm some fishing practises can do to the environment and since then I’ve only bought sustainably caught fish! 🎣 🐠    Don’t forget - a little can go a long way!    #sustainability
