My compassion for animals and human health ignited my vegan lifestyle 7 years ago, but my other passions and interests really do wonders in keeping me so engaged (/enraged) - especially when it comes to my interest in data analytics. I mean, some of the most fascinating (/frustrating) data points are directly related to this very topic. Like how in the U.S., "the largest 2.6% of farms are responsible for a staggering 98% of animal production." In the time since you started reading this post, over 3 THOUSAND animals have died for food in the United States alone. Pairing this with this research tells us that a very high percentage of those thousands of animals have died within those 2.6% largest farms. That's not good news for anyone, and this consolidation, which has "accelerated dramatically over the past half-century," is not even going to be sustainable for those large farms themselves. As the research further highlights, "the concentration of animal agriculture into fewer, larger operations carries severe implications for our environment, public health, and rural communities." The situation that we've gotten ourselves into when it comes to how we feed ourselves is not sustainable from any angle. Not economically, not environmentally, not morally and not logically. The good news here is that we actually have more power here as consumers than we do with nearly any other industry. In this profit-driven system that we live in, we vote with our dollar every single day. Let's show them how much we care about our planetary longevity. I encourage you to follow pages like this on LinkedIn, and maybe even try the vegan option at the next restaurant you go to (or better yet, check out your local vegan establishment). Of course there's so much more that we can do as individuals, and our imagination really is our limit with how we can contribute to this shift. As beings with "dominion" over this planet (and especially as Americans), I believe we have an obligation to educate ourselves on the reality of our impact on not just the planet itself, but the treatment of the beings with whom we share this space. Surround yourself with the truth, because the truth will set us all free.

Today with William father of Chicken let's talk about Chicken Comb, it's not just for show. The comb helps chickens stay cool in hot weather by regulating their body temperature. And a healthy comb is bright red, not pale or purple, and it should feel smooth, not bumpy. If a chicken's comb looks different, it could mean they're not feeling well. So dear farmer keep an eye on those combs for happy, healthy chickens. Learn everyday with William father of Chicken to improve your poultry farming skills. ✉+256754152304

❓ This is a hard post to write and we don’t write these often. Once you know this, how can you unknow it? 🐓 On May 29th a massive blaze at a commercial egg farm in Southern Illinois resulted in the tragic loss of over 1 million chickens. 🔥 The fire broke out at around 1:30 a.m. and quickly engulfed multiple barns, making it extremely difficult for firefighters to contain. Despite the 150 firefighters’ valiant efforts, the scale and intensity of the fire led to significant loss of livestock and property. 🐔 The worst is that 1 million chickens is a rounding error. An insurance blip. A hiccup in the food system. Currently over 70 billion chickens are in factories, causing 💀 intense ammonia pollution linked to human death and 🩸 the pain and suffering of animals that can recognize up to 100 names and faces. 🦃 People who have had many types of pets consistently say that turkeys and chickens are their favorite pets with distinct personalities. 🌎 Large-scale farming operations are susceptible to catastrophic events like fires due to fragile operations that include cramming too many animals into one place, which can have severe environmental, economic, and ethical repercussions. The stomach-curdling loss of over a million chickens in a single incident underscores the need for improved safety protocols and a reevaluation of our reliance on intensive animal farming practices. There are better options like Daring., Konscious Foods, The Better Meat Co., gardein™, Morningstar Farms, Beyond Meat, Impossible Foods, jack & annie's and so many more. 👧🏻 There are other options to eating mass-churned chicken, and our kids would choose other options if they had any idea of what happens to chickens in factories. Today with William Father of Chicken let's talk about floor eggs in a chicken house, hey farmers have you realized that when chickens lay eggs on the floor instead of in their nests, it can cause some serious problems? Let's talk something small about it. Floor eggs are risky because they can easily get dirty or cracked, making them unsuitable for eating. Plus, when eggs are left on the floor, they're more likely to attract pests like rats and insects, which can spread diseases to your flock. But don't worry much about this, by collecting eggs from the floor a few times a day, you can help prevent these issues and keep your eggs clean and safe. Plus, when hens learn that their eggs won't be left on the floor, they're more likely to lay them in their nests where they belong I assure you here. Making good and attractive nests for your chickens can also encourage them to lay their eggs in the right place. This not only keeps your eggs cleaner but also makes them easier to collect and sell. It's a win-win for both you and your chicken itself. Learn everyday with William Father of Chicken to improve your farming skills. 📞+256754152304
