Business conditions at US architecture firms continued to decline in December 2023 according to the AIA/Deltek Architecture Billings Index. If the typical pattern holds, the declining trend (which has now continued for eight months) is likely to translate into a slow down in building construction activity sometime in the second quarter of 2024. #constructioneconomics #aia

The score increased from March but still indicates that billings continue to decline at most architecture firms. “Continued high interest rates make it difficult for some projects to move forward, but there is ongoing interest in pursuing these projects once conditions improve.
