Three for Thursday National Good Neighbor Day 🤝 National Good Neighbor Day creates an opportunity for neighbors to get to know each other better. This national holiday started in the early 1970s as a day to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of a good neighbor. If you’re lucky, you have a good neighbor or two, but I think it’s an even a greater thing to BE a good neighbor. Good neighbors watch out for each other, lend a helping hand, and are there for advice when asked. Neighbors collect our mail when we’re on vacation, watch our homes, and sometimes watch our children and our pets. Simply put, being a good neighbor makes good neighbors and develops lifelong friendships. If you’d like to be a better neighbor, here are three ways to start: 1. Be approachable. Just saying hello goes a long way to creating a bond or breaking down barriers. 2. Share food from your garden or take over some baked goods or a special treat. 3. Ask who they recommend for a service such as taxes, painting, or car care. You will earn their respect, especially if the question is something they have first-hand experience. I consider myself to be lucky to have many wonderful neighbors. With fire pit season and Halloween around the corner, it’s especially a great time to connect. I hope this helps you think of ways to be a good neighbor. #GoodNeighborDay #connect #kindness #voiceactor #voiceartist

Christmas for me is about memory making, not about the gifts or the cards you send (or in my case don’t send!). It is about the traditions that you as a family create the quiet moments and the laughter. How can you make your child’s Christmas more memorable and magical? Children remember what we did with them more than they remember what you bought them. How can you arrange to spend more quality time together? Could you organise a games night once a week, or perhaps have a puzzle on the go that you can all dip into, can you cook meals together or have your older children cook for you? Chat with your kids at a Christmas family meeting and ask them what they would like to do, what they would drop and how they would like you to come together as a family. I love Advent, and this is how I used to add to the memory-making in our family. We had a book advent where I wrapped up 24 Christmas stories (I had a lot of Christmas books but you could do this with books from your kid's book box) and every evening, we picked one to unwrap and read. We did this tradition, way beyond when I thought my daughter had outgrown it, at her request. Our advent calendar is one with pockets and I do put chocolate in it, or small gifts to unwrap, in addition, I put little notes about what my daughter could do that day to bring about the spirit of Christmas, How can she be of service? How can she spread kindness? How do you create the magic of Christmas with your Family? #christmas #familytraditions #familyfirst

I know what all Mother's want for Mother's Day. If you get the Mom's in your life THIS for Mother's Day, she will love it! This gift is proven. Mother's...ALL Mother's love this gift. When Mother's get this gift, they feel: - Refreshed - Heard - Appreciated - Understood - Seen - Loved And the best part is, you don't have to shop for it. No need to wrap it. It doesn't cost money. Are you ready for the answer? What Mother's really want for Mother's Day is... A nap. Here are some notes on the best naps for Mom's on Mother's Day: 1) The most effective time of day for the nap is right after lunch. 1:00pm to 3:00pm is the sweet spot. 2) A two-hour nap is ideal. Longer if needed. 3) An empty house is a great setting. Mom's nap better if she doesn't have to worry about kids and people barging in during the nap. 4) Don't place a limit on the nap or wake her up. Mom will wake up on her own and let you know when the nap is over. Try it. She'll love it. And you'll be a hero for helping to make it happen. Your #1 Fan, ~ Chris P.S. The nap is best used in addition to all other plans you made for Mom on Mother's Day. Just sayin'.

If you read my post yesterday you will remember I made a promise and yes, I come bearing some sweet, simple, and low-budget activities that fathers can enjoy with their kids and often to further bond with them. 1. Breakfast Time: Simple routine of having breakfast with them once or more in a week. 2. Bedtime Story: Create a routine of reading them a bedtime story once or more in a week. 3. Nature Walks: Explore the outdoors, go on hikes, or simply take a walk in the park together. 4. Storytelling: Create and share your own stories, or read books together. 3. Cooking: Cook a meal or bake cookies as a team. 4. Science Experiments: Conduct simple science experiments or DIY projects at home. 5. Gardening: Plant flowers, vegetables, or herbs in the garden and care for them together. 6. Stargazing: Spend a night looking at the stars and identifying constellations. 7. Art and Crafts: Get creative with art projects, drawing, or crafting. 8. Music Time: Play musical instruments, sing, or introduce them to different types of music. 9. Picnics: Have a picnic in the backyard or at a local park. 10. Building Projects: Build something together, like a birdhouse, treehouse, or model kit. 11. Treasure Hunts: Create treasure maps and have a fun scavenger hunt. 12. Family Game Night: Play board games or card games as a family. 13. Sports: Engage in sports like soccer, basketball, or even simple catch. 14. Volunteer Together: Find opportunities to volunteer as a team and give back to the community. 15. Learning New Skills: Teach your kids practical skills like tying knots, bike riding, or basic carpentry. These activities do not necessarily require serious finances or to be done regularly. The most important thing is to make it effective and efficient. It should be something that the kids look forward to. You don't need to put yourself under pleasure to do any of them either, you can also come up with something you know works best for you and schedule. Remember, the key to fostering a strong bond is spending quality time together and showing love and support for your children. Which of these activities do love most? Meanwhile, meet my sweet nephew and his father😍❤️ #family #fatherhood #fatherchildlove

Kindness is a super power, the cheapest thing you can do today to make a difference- be kind. The best human trait and the easiest form of philanthropy. 3 seconds Smile at someone as you jostle in the commute / shop /school run / gym Step aside as everyone jostles 3 mins Help someone who asks - yep I have 3 mins Send a text to a friend or colleague you haven’t heard from in a while Put your phone down to concentrate on what someone says 30 mins Send a card to an elderly relative - who doesn’t love post ? Take time to explain to someone - what they need to do to get the job next time / get the promo/an area you are expert in and they have asked before - over coffee. Bake a cake (loaf cake easily located ingredients and mixed up in less than 30 ) ok cooking is 40 mins but the oven does that for you.. and give it to a neighbour/ friend #kindness unlocks all sorts of cascading goodness - be kind and see what happens. 💚
