Richie McCaw famously wrote down G.A.B. before every game—his affirmation to himself to be a Great All Black. His journey from losing in the 2007 quarter-final to leading the All Blacks to the 2011 World Cup win is so inspiring. He had a clear why, developed grit, and had the courage to dream. I have the awesome privilege of supporting Kiwi entrepreneurs—people from all walks of life who are ready to give it a go. As I mentioned on the WFLS Podcast we are awesome entrepreneurs in New Zealand. It’s a privilege to be able to support our entrepreneurs so that they can go global if they want to (most situations have to be US first). The world has many problems that it needs help with. Like Richie, grappling with your why is critical. It’s the fuel that gets you through the many, many grit-building tough times. Importantly, you’ve got to do right by yourself. Your why, your constraints, and your dream. The last image is a framework that provides a guide: ‘your why’ <> ‘type of venture’. Just know that you can go big if you choose to.
