Hey connections👋 this article is about my internship, The internship at State Coconut Nursery in Theni was a profoundly enriching experience that provided me with an in-depth understanding of the processes and practices involved in coconut seedling production. Through hands-on participation and close observation, I gained practical insights and enhanced my knowledge in various aspects of nursery management.During the internship, I was involved in various stages of the nursery operations, including air curing, sand curing, preparation of nursery beds, transplanting, and managing the sales bed. Each stage demonstrated the meticulous care and precision required to produce healthy and robust coconut seedlings. I observed the importance of selecting high-quality seeds, proper soil preparation, and the need for regular maintenance to ensure optimal growth conditions.Air curing and sand curing processes highlighted the necessity of pre-germination treatments in enhancing seed viability and vigor. The preparation of nursery beds emphasized the importance of soil quality and proper bed construction for successful seedling development. Transplanting techniques taught me the significance of handling seedlings carefully to avoid root damage, and the management of sales beds showed how to present and maintain seedlings ready for market.
