Last week, we celebrated our 50th anniversary with two BBQs - one on Vancouver Island and one in the Fraser Valley. This is a Communitas tradition and it was made sweeter this year by the fantastic turnout we had at each event. We are so grateful to be able to serve and celebrate in these communities. Thank you to everyone who attended and made it special https://loom.ly/jaw1CVY

Black History Month is here, and the Guelph Black Heritage Society and The Kween Company will end the month with Black Vacation Week - a time for rest and connection. "Recognizing the depth of planning events, hosting and the amount of work that is done over BHM, it is often that Black people do not get the time off or time needed to connect with their community," reads a post from The Kween Company last February. I would love to know if other organizations, especially nonprofits, have adopted this initiative. Reach out if so for a possible Future of Good story. Happy Black History Month! Every February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and festivities that honour the legacy of Black people in Canada and their communities. For 16 years, TD has been supporting Black History Month events and initiatives across North America. Through the TD Ready Commitment, TD continues to work to address systemic inequities in funding Black-led and Black serving non-profit organizations. This year, we are supporting over 40 initiatives across the Canadian footprint through the TD Ready Commitment in several regions. Alongside Black History Month Initiatives, we also support year-round, Black-led organizations. In 2023 alone, TD invested over $8MM in Black-led, Black-serving, and Black-focused (B3) organizations across Canada. Learn more about TD's commitment in action and how we work with Black communities to build a more inclusive future.
