I just returned home this weekend from a big regional area meet in Pensacola and saw this. Wanted to share it as this is the beauty of cross country and how it would apply if we used that same spirit in our work and personal lives. These are not my words but as a 7+ year cross country mom, they very well could be. —- What if we lived life like we were all in a cross country meet? What if we watched other people and recognized that we're all just trying to get across the finish line? What if we understood that some people are running as hard as they can but battling illnesses, invisible injuries, and internal struggles? Every step is hard, but they're trying not to quit. What if we cheered for everyone even if they weren't on our team? What if we realized just finishing something, no matter how long it took us or how messy it seemed, was enough? In fact, it was a win. What if we used every race as an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and how we could use each other for support, inspiration, and help to reach our goals? What if we cheered loud for the winner, but even louder for the one who comes in after because they accomplished something great, too? In a world that tells us it's about me, me, me, what if we started living to support everyone brave enough to be in the race? What if we started treating our lives like we were all in the same cross country meet? What a beautiful world that would be. Love hard. Whitney Fleming Writes

Yesterday marked my six-month anniversary since being promoted to Director of Business Development at Court Enforcement Services. Reflecting on my time in post so far fills me with immense pride and excitement for what lies ahead. In these past six months, our team has achieved remarkable feats together: - Enhanced Collaboration: We've implemented new ways of working collaboratively, which has benefitted both our team internally and our clients, who have recognised a more fluid service. - Empowering Team Members: It's been incredibly rewarding to witness team members not only stepping into their own and thriving in their roles, but absolutely flourishing. - Enhanced Service Levels: During this period, we've received some of the highest placement volumes of the year. However, alongside this we've also worked to reduce visit times and increase recovery rates. Notably, both monthly visit volumes and remittance values have increased for many clients, which shows the dedication of our Operations Team and their commitment to delivering industry-leading results. - Strengthened Client Relationships: Above all, we've deepened our relationships with both new and existing clients by demonstrating our unwavering commitment to being a professional, client focused and approachable High Court enforcement partner. I'm proud of what the first six months has brought, and with some really exciting projects already in the pipeline, I have no doubt that the remainder of this year will be filled with even more accomplishments, growth, and success..... watch this space 👀

Marketing @ Aha Media Group | Lifelong Learner | Multi-passionate Fangirl | Playlist Maker | Catch Me Outside 🏕️
Celebrating 2 years of making the marketing magic happen at Aha Media Group 💖 People often ask me how I went from owning a coffee shop and bakery to healthcare marketing. A lot of the things I do in life are strategic. But most of them (often the best of them) just sort of naturally evolve from the people I meet and interests I pursue. Story time! I started growing my coffee business the year Facebook first allowed non-college students to join. There were no business accounts back then. I built a social media strategy around The SweetSpot having a personal profile. First name: The SweetSpot Last name: Coffee Shop Relationship status: It’s complicated I became obsessed with social media marketing. Growing followers 100x and revenue 10x over 10 years. When I graphed it out, the correlation was uncanny. A few years into that, I started teaching other small business owners how to use social media to build their brands. I wanted to know everything I could about social and local SEO so I could share it with others. So I gobbled up every resource I could. In 2016 I took a class on content marketing from Andy Crestodina and it opened my eyes to a world beyond local SEO and social. I have a tendency to go all in on something I’m interested in so … hello, new obsession! Content marketing! ✨ When I sold my business 4 years later, I knew I wanted to focus solely on marketing. After a couple of years working as a consultant across almost every industry you can imagine (no, seriously, I did everything from Pinterest marketing for Gulf Shores Tourism to web copy for industrial saw blade sharpeners), I wanted to find a role where I could learn more and focus on growing a brand. I reached back out to Andy, who is as generous with his time as he is with his expertise. He put me in touch with his marketing director, Amanda Gant, who met with me and said … “I know just the role for you”. A few days later I was interviewing with Ahava Leibtag and felt immediately and inexplicably “at home”. That feeling of just clicking into place. The next month, I had a new job. And my new obsessions are patient experience, health literacy, and AI in healthcare. … There’s a lot more to that story. Like how I was sitting by the pool in a campground in Palm Springs, CA when I met with Andy… Or how I did my Aha Media onboarding from the back of my RV as we drove through Oklahoma… But today I am focusing the power of: 1. Pursuing interests obsessively 2. Reaching out and building connections Both take a growth mindset and a little bit of bravery. And I would not be here today without them. … P.S. Big thanks to Andy and Amanda for your help in guiding me here.

These decisions are generally made by people living in controlled neighbourhoods. However, areas like mine that are historically affordable for new homeowners will disappear to rental units. What these changes actually mean is that the house next to me (that is for sale) can be bought, torn down and rebuilt into a 4-unit townhouse that is no longer required to provide parking spaces. There will be no place to park on my street, no sun in my yard, and potentially 16 neighbours living 5 feet from me. I am all for more housing however, adding incentives for developers to utilize the empty lots in the city's dying areas for apartment buildings would be far more beneficial to the city, the renters and the economy while leaving older neighbourhoods to answer the ever-growing problem of unaffordable home ownership.
I am excited to share more work the team has been doing to accommodate growth in Regina! I know, two posts in one week - we’ve been busy 😀
