When it comes to inflation, we are all remembering what the summer through October of 2019 felt like. Surplus of cash, ease of movement, purchasing assets, contributing more to our retirements, vacations with the family...etc. 21.8% - that is the pain we are feeling right now. 21.8% less income. 21.8% less purchasing power. 21.8% less food in your home. .... If you made $100,000 in 2019, you now effectively make $78,200 oh, but the tax brackets still calculate based off your gross of $100,000 And, AND the Trump Era Tax cuts are set to expire at the end of 2025, so say goodbye to that wonderful automatic deduction. We remember 2019, but really this 21.8% truly hit is in the last 2 - 2.5 years, and what a massive shock to the system it has been. Honestly I don't see an end in sight... What to do? I am taking matters into my own hands and increasing my income, and not by 2.5% a year, nor a 5%, 10%, or 15% raise. No, I am taking matters into my own hands by starting my own business. Tying yourself to a 9-5 is a 30 year rat race that statistically you won't win. Your wages will not keep up with inflation and you are in the select, elite few if you save more than $1,000,000 by the time you "retire". $1,000,000 x 21.8% = $218.000 $218,000 less purchasing power in the last few years alone. You have two options that are viable at this point. 1. Increase your income - DRASTICALLY 2. buy hard assets that produce cash flow. Concerning point 1. Schedule a hiring interview with me, invest in yourself, and see in your minds eye the place you could be in 1-5 years if you simply scheduled a 15 minute hiring interview. https://lnkd.in/gZcQ5b5h #hiring #opportunity #business #entrepreneur #jobseekers #opentowork #lookingforwork

My top 5 tips for describing your team in a bid or grant application. People buy from people so how you describe your team is critical. So I always: ✔️ Make sure all key roles on a bid are named individuals, your potential client or grant funder want to make an assessment of the team based on those individuals and their experience, they can’t do that on just a job spec and list of skills. ✔️ Include professional headshots of the team to humanise your bid and bring the team to life. ✔️ Include CVs if allowed, demonstrate the previous experience the team have which makes them ideal for your bid. ✔️ Explain how and why the team will work well together e.g. previous projects, working with similar clients. ✔️ For more junior roles, if team members aren’t in post yet show how will you recruit them, include preferred recruitment partners and demonstrate how will you ensure it won’t impact your delivery timelines. Reassure the assessor that you have a plan.

So very privileged, and nervous (imposter syndrome?) to join Dominic Bish from Bolster Risk Management Ltd to join his podcast "𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭" This is a very personal one, I share my own business story. You get to hear about the challenges I have faced, the random 'fall' (not the dream) I had into running my own business, all about my weaknesses, and you also get to find out what a day in a life of a recruiter is like. Could be a decent one to listen to on the drive home, or while cooking and making a mess in the kitchen or during your exercise. Check out the other podcasts while you are there. Dom has interviewed some amazing business owners on this platform. There are conversations with incredible leaders that I have learned so much from. #recruit #recruitment #askjess #sourceandselect #yourbusinessisyourasset #bolsterriskmanagement Bolster Risk Management Ltd

𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭 Every session I bring along professionals, consultants and small business owners, to give me their insights on running a business in New Zealand. For business owners and entrepreneurs who see their company as more than just a business—it’s their life’s work, their family’s security, and a legacy they’re building for the future. But while they’re driven by growth and success, they may also feel the weight of unaddressed challenges. One of those challenges could well be recruitment, is it an art form or a science...? To answer that, and other questions, I'm joined by Jessica Cree, owner of Select & Source Recruitment. 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐬, I've known you for about 16 years and we've had many chats and videos and interviews. I'm really glad to have you on the show, welcome! 🎙️ Listen here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gnc6V8xx
