  • Freddie is back with his facts! This week he's talking to us about "Debentures"... Let's see what he has to say! 💬 "Most invoice finance companies will look to take a debenture over your business as part of the agreement. However, some lenders can make an exception. If you already have a debenture in place, for example with your bank, then the invoice discounter will require a Deed of Priority (DOP) over the book debt only. This is because as an invoice finance provider, the book debt is the key security for them. DOPs are regularly agreed between lender’s to provide the business with the adequate funding package to succeed, whilst ensuring both lenders have sufficient security." Well - now you know! If you have any finance jargon you'd like us to break down for you, be sure to drop it in the comments! 👇

  • This week Jacob has been handling an enquiry from an established recruitment agency, making both temporary and permanent placements into a variety of sectors, including driving, industrial, legal, IT and commercial. 💻 They have been using the same invoice finance provider since starting out two and half years ago but feel the service they are receiving is not what it used to be when they started. Alongside some issues with credit limits, and the fact that their perms are not currently funded (which could account for 25% of turnover this year), it seemed like a good time to look around. 🔍 We were able to do market review, proving offers from a number of lenders. The best offer would provide a 40% cost saving on fees, and funding on perms would be included too, increasing cash availability. 📈 It’s well worth reviewing if you are facing issues or have not reviewed your facility since starting out! • This week we have Iain Kemp providing our #DealOFTheWeek for a client that started trading in August 2024 and provides care workers to a NHS Trust in the Midlands. 🙌 Referrals were coming thick and fast but payments were slow which quite quickly caused a cashflow concern. They had the ability to execute the referrals but without an invoice finance solution, the business wouldn’t be able to pay its workers in time. ⚖️ Up stepped Guy Jones from Team Factors Ltd who put forward a £50k invoice factoring line to help the director fulfil the opportunities and grow her business. ✅ Could you be our next #DOTW? • It's time for Jacob to #JargonBust and this week he's talking about Credit Limits! 📈 "Credit limits show the amount of funding a lender is willing to provide on individual customers at any one time. It will vary from customer to customer, depending on their strength. If your outstanding balance with a customer goes above your credit limit, the funding will be capped at the credit limit. You would not receive an advance on balances above the credit limit. This effectively lowers the prepayment you receive, but you would still pay your service fee on this amount. When looking at an invoice finance facility, it is key to ensure the lender can get sufficient credit limits. Credit limits can vary from lender to lender, due to different lenders using different credit reference agencies and credit insurers. Even if one lender is restrictive, there may be other options." • This week we have a very special #DOTW with Jacob ✨ The business was a recently started print management company. The director started the business after the previous company he worked at closed, due to the owner retiring. The good news was that they already had a customer base to make a running start with. After being in talks with a high-street bank for a number of weeks, they were set to draw down on a facility in early December. However, the bank pulled the facility last minute. They hadn’t realised that all the print work was outsourced, and not completed in house. 🚫 The business now needed a solution ASAP as they had budgeted for the facility being in place. Up stepped Jamie Martin and Team Factors Ltd who met the director, got the facility approved, set up and ready to draw down on in under two weeks, enabling the customer to take a payment in the days before Christmas. ✅ Thanks Jamie and Team Factors – a great result for the customer, and a prime example of other options being available when the bank says no! 🙌 Could you be our next deal of the week? • It's time for our #EnquiryOfTheWeek! 🙌 This week, Freddie has been talking to a speciality coffee roasting business turning over £2.5m that sells coffee to Michelin star restaurants and five-star hotels. ☕️ The business sources raw coffee beans from suppliers in South America and East Africa, who require upfront payments. This meant that by the time they had imported the coffee beans, roasted them, delivered them, and waited 30 days for payment, cash flow was becoming a real problem. 📆 With the growth plans for the business for 2025 in mind, the business enquired to put in an invoice factoring facility in place to ease pressures and allow for expansion. 📈 Have you got an enquiry for us? Head over to our website today! ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e7k-NYz9
