As we approach Memorial Day, a solemn day of remembrance and reflection, it's disheartening to see the usual trend of retailers remaining open, prioritizing profits over pause. While I understand the dynamics of commerce, this day should be an exception. It's a day to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms, not a day for sales and revenue. Equally conflicting are the posts that will soon flood our feeds, offering thanks to our veterans while simultaneously promoting profit-generating activities. This dichotomy does not sit well with me. Memorial Day is not just another holiday; it's a day of national reverence. I urge businesses and individuals alike in the future, to consider the true meaning of this day. Let's dedicate it to genuine reflection and honor, not to the pursuit of profit.
