Continuing with my wandering in the world of words, here is the word that wowed me today: enjoy #2: Enjoy Widely accepted meaning: to take pleasure or satisfaction in, to have a good time Inspired meaning: to make joy Typically when we say we enjoy something we mean we like it because it makes us happy. What if we instead saw enjoying as an active action: making joy? That flips us from being objects (the thing being acted upon) to subjects (the actor/hero doing the thing). Enjoyment is no longer limited to the things one likes. It can now also encompass things one is curious about, surprised by, or even angry or upset about. Because enjoyment is in the process of fully experiencing life. You make joy when you are moved by something or when you have done the work to solve the thing that your challenging emotion brought up to you. #whataword #WAW Enjoy! https://lnkd.in/gwF8bK_h PS: Sid does not enjoy, in the traditional sense, practicing music. But when he has reasonably figured some piece out, a spontaneous smile sneaks in. And that is the enjoyment that stays and motivates him to keep at it.

As some if not many of you know, I attended #nammshow last week. I had a lot of folks ask me if #generativeai was mentioned or showcased at the worlds largest trade show for music tech, instruments, and much more. The simple answer is this young gentleman, Jesus Molina, as well as many other ridiculously talented artists such as Matteo Mancuso (an extraordinary guitar players. Check him out if you play and want to get freaked out). Bottomline, you don't need Gen AI to take away from this. This is called human talent. It is extraordinary because one of us can do this. BTW, if you are told not to follow your passion, think twice. You might deprive yourself of building on a talent such as the one this young man has. Yes, follow your passion. Do what you love. Do great things. I'm continuing my weekend (hobby) experiment with generating AI-music (suno) in the Deep House genre, illustrated with AI-images (MidJourney). Great fun! Today's release is "Make yourself a good life [before you're dead]". I write lyrics manually. The music production is usually the result of 300-500 prompts. I've looked at using AI-video, but what's available is simply not good enough. RunwayML is presumably the best option, but it's not good enough. When Sora is public, that will surely be a game changer. The many image-to-talking-head models that are emerging are also promising.
