🫶 Let your values lead your local giving  A commonly-held perspective by some people is that you have to be super rich to donate or give financially but that's not the case. All giving, whether large or small, counts towards the whole, especially when those funds are invested, grown and given back to charitable causes.  If you hold in high regard the value of giving back and providing service, it doesn't matter the amount of money you have or how much you give. You will give regardless because you are values-driven and will find a way.  For example, Imagine getting together with a great bunch of like-minded people who collectively invest a smaller, manageable amount regularly towards a common cause. Imagine the satisfaction of seeing your financial contributions grow and being distributed back into the community and making a real difference. (You can read more of these examples by googling, 'The Hundred Women Who Care movement'). If you are in the philanthropic or financial advice space remind people that they don't have to be Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey to make change the world. Historically, #philanthropy and everyday donors give to the most popular, well-known charities. These #nonprofits don't have to pay much to get a lot. Nonprofit watchdogs would call them efficient. Emerging nonprofits, however, pay a lot to get a little. They need exposure; to grow awareness of their cause, amplify their message, find donors and municipal partners to support them. This costs money - and traditional philanthropy doesn't always fund these types of nonprofits because they're not efficient. This is a juncture where #corporatephilanthropy can make a difference and fill the holes left behind by traditional philanthropy. Companies with public affairs depts. can leverage their network of municipal partners; they can make introductions to powerful people with connections, people who can get the word out about their cause, grow their network of donors, maybe even populate their board of directors. If companies are serious about #socialimpact then please don't mirror traditional philanthropy. Find the holes and fill them; give in ways that others do not. #csr

Encouraging employees to engage in charitable activities can significantly enhance a company’s impact on society. If you're clear about your philanthropic budget, you're more likely to achieve your charitable goals. Take it a step further and allocate an amount for the different purposes of your philanthropy, such as responding to emergencies, supporting requests from peers and organizations you are involved with, or more focused giving to achieve impact in specific issue areas.
