Conservation Halton is pleased to announce that Chandra Sharma will be joining our team as our new President & CEO, beginning September 9, 2024. Chandra has spent over two decades supporting the mandate of Ontario’s conservation authorities. In her current role as CAO of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, she has successfully led transformative initiatives to advance strategic planning with sound performance measures, strengthen government and stakeholder relations, and enhance long-term financial sustainability while reducing reliance on municipal levy. In previous senior leadership roles held with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, Chandra directed the development and implementation of watershed management programs within Canada’s largest urban centre, with a continuous focus on strategic partnerships and community engagement. As an advocate for Conservation Authorities in Ontario and an exemplary leader dedicated to building cross-sector partnerships and empowering a team of purpose-driven professionals, Chandra will help Conservation Halton continue to operate as one of Ontario’s most innovative and progressive conservation authorities, ensuring that our work remains more relevant than ever to supporting quality of life and managing natural hazards in the growing communities we serve.
