"Inspiring Generations" is the theme for this year's National Assisted Living Week, a fitting tribute to the extraordinary role Assisted Living Facilities play in our communities. At Continuum Hospice, we recognize the deep connections these facilities foster, providing care, comfort, and a sense of belonging to residents and their families. This week let’s come together to show our appreciation. Tag an Assisted Living Facilities in the comments below and share how much they mean to you and your loved ones. Today at Families First we had the privilege of hearing from a remarkable care-experienced person who shared her journey through the looked-after system, which is part of our induction process for our new members of Families First. Her story is a powerful reminder of the profound impact that support, or the lack of it, can have on lives. Listening to her articulate the challenges she faced during her journey as a looked after young person was truly eye-opening. She emphasised how different her outcomes could have been if her family had received the right resources and guidance during those critical times. This conversation reinforced a vital message: the voices of care-experienced individuals are crucial in shaping the systems designed to support them. We must do more to ensure families can stay together whenever possible, providing the support they need to thrive. At Families First, we are commited to listening, learning, and championing the changes that can make a real difference in the lives of those who have faced similar journeys. Together, we can create a brighter future for children and families. 💫💜

Parking lot exit sign at Tampa’s Messiah Lutheran Church. As their service ends and individuals leave the church parking lot, a powerful reminder resonates: "You are entering the mission field." This statement carries profound meaning, urging everyone to recognize that their faith extends beyond the walls of the church and into the world around them. Just beyond church parking lots, every day presents an opportunity to embody the values of love, compassion, and service, preached within the church by Messiah’s Pastor, Mark Adrian. That the mission field is not just a distant place; it is the neighborhood, the workplace, and the community where everyday interactions occur. Each person can have influence by spreading kindness and understanding in their daily lives. For individuals leaving Messiah Lutheran’s church parking lot, embracing the idea of entering the mission field can inspire a commitment to service and compassion. It is a reminder that living out one’s faith happens every day, in every interaction. Recognizing the suffering face of Christ in all we encounter. Together, by spreading love and kindness, everyone can help create ‘heaven on earth’ —brighter and more caring neighborhoods, communities, and world. Dorothy Day Tampa – mission field laborers.

Transportation is so important for ALICE maintaining job stability, getting their children to child care, accessing social services and health care. Thank you, Stephanie Hoopes and Cambridge Systematics, Inc. for highlighting this issue. #UnitedForALICE #transportationindustry
We were honored to have Stephanie Hoopes, Director of United For ALICE, as a guest speaker during our latest DEI Coffee Break! ☕ Stephanie's presentation shed light on the financial hardship facing ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) individuals and families. Transportation costs and options can be significant barriers to ALICE households seeking access to jobs, health care, education, and opportunity. Together, we explored the intersection between financial security and transportation, focusing on what we as a community of transportation professionals can do to support ALICE. We thank Stephanie, United For ALICE, and United Way for your continued partnership, including with the Transportation Research Board and AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) as part of the national transportation vision framework supported by CS. It's exciting to see the impact of United For ALICE research and advocacy in galvanizing transportation leaders toward a transportation system that better serves all of our communities.

August is National Civic Health Month. The National Civic League has created a civic health index that includes seven components of community-based civic capital: engaged residents, inclusive community leadership, collaborative institutions, embracing diversity and equity, authentic communication, a culture of engagement, and shared vision and values. Here in Arkansas, it is in our best interests, and in the best interests of our children and grandchildren, that we elect leaders who make it their mission to create and sustain civic health infrastructure that empowers the citizens of Arkansas to build livable communities where we all can thrive together. Read the 2023 Arkansas Civic Health Index, that I co-authored, to find out what our elected officials should be thinking about to improve our state's civic health: https://lnkd.in/gqaPARWU

Talk to me about joining a company that supports the below.
We are proud to support The Senior Source which serves older adults in the Dallas area. Several Globe Life employees attended the organization's 30th Anniversary Spirit of Generations Luncheon, which honored individuals who have contributed significantly in "thoughts, words, and deeds' to all generations of the Dallas community past, present, and future.

Embodying the core values and principles that our mothers imparted to us is a powerful way to honor their wisdom and guidance. Here are some ways to actively live in accordance with these values: Compassion and Empathy: Practice empathy and compassion in our interactions with others. By showing kindness and understanding, we uphold the values of empathy that our mothers instilled in us. This can be as simple as lending a listening ear to a friend in need or volunteering to help those less fortunate in our communities. https://amzn.to/3U6Ht7Z
