What do our power generation control systems actually do? We put together this brief overview to help you understand 📽⚡ You will regularly see us showcase our beautiful control systems and LV switchgear panels here on LinkedIn, but do you know what their purpose is? Not everyone does so we thought we would try something different this week and help give some context to those of you who may not necessarily be aware with a generic example scenario. For around the last hundred years the world has been almost totally dependent on electricity to function. For businesses, this power must be completely dependable. While it may be a minor inconvenience for some, in particularly smaller businesses, for others, even being off for 10 minutes could result in millions of £/$/€ worth of losses. Our control panels, at their core, ensure that an automatic process is conducted whereby should the grid utility supply fail, backup sources of power generation can start and take over the site load. This example is just one process that our control panels provide for, in reality they perform many different functions instead of or in addition to the given scenario. Add control and power systems. We have been manufacturing high quality bespoke control systems and LV switch gear solutions for over 30 years. This video aims to give some further information regarding what exactly our control and switch gear systems do by going over one of many schemes that our systems cater for, the non brake automatic transfer of supply, also known as a synchronizing AT scheme. Let's take a look at the scenarios. Normal operation. Site load is supported by a healthy utility Main Supply. Maines failure. The utility mains supply has gone out of limits or has failed entirely. A man's failure timer will begin to countdown. Remains failed. Confirmed The utility mains supply has been out of limits long enough for the mains failed timer to expire. MCB opens and the signal to start the generators has been issued. Generator started. The generators run up to speed and volts and then go through a stabilization period to ensure the generators are ready for load. Synchronizing generators. The first available generator closes its GCB onto a dead bus, which then livens the bus. The remaining generators begin to synchronize to the generator, which was first to close its GCB. So it back online. Once all of the generators are in synchronism, the MGCB circuit breaker will close, repowering the site from the generator supply. Main supply returns. Once the utility main supply has returned, the mains returned timer will begin to countdown which ensures that the main supply is stable before transferring site load back onto the mains. Mains and generate a parallel operation. Once the mains return timer has expired, the generators alter their voltage, frequency and phase angle to synchronize with the main supply. Once in synchronism, MCB will close. Site back on mains. Site load is soft ramped off the generators and onto the mains. Once the load on the generators is at a low level, the MGCB circuit breaker will open. Generate a stopping cycle. Each generator opens its GCB and then enters A cooldown period. This allows the unloaded generators to continue pumping coolant around the engine and exhaust any hot gases before stopping. Back to normal operation, the generators eventually stop and the system is back in its normal operation. The system waits in anticipation of the next event. In order to carry out these scenarios, a control panel or suite of control panels is required. These control panels act as the brain of the operation, monitoring inputs, processing control logic and then giving outputs based on this logic. We offer a full turnkey package for power generation control systems from design and manufacture to installation and commissioning, as well as periodic servicing and testing. In addition to our control system offering, we can also provide the same turnkey packages on LV switch gear systems and distribution. We can design and manufacture both mains and generator switchboards rated up to 6300 amps. Thank you for watching.

What is the basic working principle of UPS power supply?#UPS UPS (uninterruptible power supply) mainly includes rectifier, inverter, battery and static switch. During normal power supply, the mains power enters the UPS, and the rectifier converts AC power into DC power. On the one hand, it charges the battery and stores electrical energy; on the other hand, the DC power is converted back to AC power through the inverter to power the load equipment. When the mains power fails, the battery will be discharged immediately, and the discharged DC power will be converted into AC power through the inverter, and continue to supply power to the load to ensure the normal operation of the equipment. The static switch will quickly switch the circuit to ensure the continuity of power supply. #EEP #electrical #ups #powersupply

Reactive Power is impacting your energy bill. Why continuous measurement and monitoring is necessary to determine the correct compensation system and to monitor it. It is called reactive energy because it does not perform useful work directly, but it is necessary for the operation of many electrical devices, such as motors, transformers, and fluorescent lights.
