This day forever changed the course of history, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts and minds. For people across America, our flag is a reminder of our Nation’s founding principle. It stands for the sacred idea that we are all created equal and deserve to be treated equally throughout our lives. Our flag is also a reminder of our shared calling: to stand for the ideals our country was founded on — democracy, freedom, and justice for all. On Flag Day and during National Flag Week, we take pride in the promise and purpose represented by our Nation’s flag. Our country’s flag was created in 1777, when America was still a new idea. Americans flew it at their homes during the Revolutionary War as brave troops fought for our country’s independence from British rule — representing the resolve and resilience of our Nation’s 13 colonies with 13 stripes and stars. As our Nation evolved, so too did our flag — with every new star added to Old Glory, we were reminded that the work of forging a more perfect Union never ends. SOURCE: White House

The closest many will get to understanding the carnage and sacrifice of the D-Day Landings 80 years ago today will be through watching films like Saving Private Ryan or visiting museums. Over 4000 allied forces lost their lives on 6 June 1944 to help defeat the Nazi ideology 80 years ago, so that today we can enjoy the freedoms we have, and too often take for granted. It is our duty to protect the freedoms we have and never forget those that laid down their lives in 1944 and throughout two World Wars. It is duty too to also educate our children and future generations to commemorate days like today. Find articles like the one below with facts about D-Day they can read to understand the sacrifices. But most of all we must also say never again to global wars and to dictators no matter what flag they fly and their cause https://lnkd.in/du6ZjQWv #dday80 #neverforget #sacrifice #operationoverlord #educate #neveragain

Honoring Patriot Day Today, we observe Patriot Day, a solemn day of remembrance for the lives lost on September 11, 2001. Established by a joint resolution of Congress and signed into law by President George W. Bush in December 2001, Patriot Day honors the nearly 3,000 victims of the tragic attacks and recognizes the bravery of the first responders and ordinary citizens who risked their lives to save others. On this day, we reflect on the resilience and unity that emerged from such profound loss. We remember the courage and selflessness displayed and reaffirm our commitment to the values of freedom and democracy that define our nation. Call to Action: Moment of Silence: At 8:46 AM, the time the first plane struck the North Tower, observe a moment of silence to honor the victims. Volunteer: Engage in community service to honor the spirit of unity and service. Support First Responders: Express gratitude to local first responders and support organizations that assist them. Educate and Reflect: Share stories and lessons learned from 9/11 with younger generations. Let’s come together to honor and remember, and to continue to build a future rooted in unity and resilience. #PatriotDay #NeverForget #September11 #HonorTheFallen #FirstResponders #Unity #Resilience #ServiceAndSacrifice #AmericanHeroes

September 11, 2024 The border crisis has been moved, by the Biden/Harris Administration, across America to your state where your state tax dollars will have to deal with all the medical, hospital, educational, housing, crime and other costs for the millions of illegals. An army of terrorist “gotaways” are now in America. An estimated 100,000 gotaways a month, 1,200,000 a year. Are they criminals, sex predators, mentally ill, human traffickers, gang members, drug cartel members, terrorists or sleeper cells? An army of terrorists now in America will make the 911 World Trade Center look like a warm-up and no one is paying attention! Only 19 terrorists to take out the World Trade Center and we have over one million, per year, “gotaways” that crossed the border. Just think what 190,000 terrorists will be able to do. The border and America are not secure. Our cities are not safe. America is not safe.
Today, we remember the immense sacrifices made on September 11th, a day that forever changed our nation. We honor the bravery of the first responders, the strength of the survivors, and the memory of those who perished. On this Patriot Day, let us stand together in unity, as we always have, to remember and to proclaim: Never Forget.

Memorial Day offers another opportunity to remember more than 81,000 Americans still missing in action from US wars/conflicts (WWII through the Gulf wars). With little media care or attention, the high MIA count surprises many people with realization that each individual in that total had a personal life with hopes, plans and dreams. Yet, each one left the comfort of home, neighborhood and loved ones to defend our homeland and shared values at great personal sacrifice. As I can personally attest, POW/MIA torment runs deep, touches many, and never goes away. Demographic research and basic practical assumptions allow us to reasonably grant that approximately 1.4 million additional people (family/friends) of those 81,000 MIAs have suffered or continue to suffer personal anguish, anxiety, uncertainty, and great pain unknowing the fate. Honoring a foundational US military value that we leave no American behind, there are focused organizations working every day to locate, identify and recover our MIAs. Two of those groups: Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency https://lnkd.in/gVzAc8JA, and, ‘Project Recover’ https://lnkd.in/gQiBF3G7
