Going from strength to strength...

Ski racing is such a thrilling, challenging sport - you spend so much time training for a (fingers crossed!) short stretch down a hill against others who are running the same course but all have slightly different conditions than you do. I am in awe of Mikaela Shiffrin - her skiing, her composure, her authenticity, her drive, she is so amazing! Last weekend she won her 90th world cup at Killington and gave a lovely, humble, inspiring interview. But it was her comments on focus that *really* resonated with me! How do you perform at the highest level (amidst so much pressure)? Be on point, ride the pressure & passion to push yourself. Don't focus on the win or the finish line - focus on the skiing, each gate, the hill, the turns - identify everything that GETS to the win, and focus on each and every step along the way. In product management I find that when we focus solely on our product bringing in suitcases full of money or the next feature launch, we don't ski a clean run or stick the landing. Instead, we should deeply understand the problem we are solving & corresponding value prop, decompose the steps to get to success and execute each step along the way with precision and confidence. https://lnkd.in/ejJakhAM

Winning the 3rd place (bronze) 🥉 can be such a strange and awkward feeling. It feels extremely complicated because the bronze is so far away from the 1st (gold)🥇and not even the 2nd (silver)🥈. Can really empathise with Max Maeder when he said he was trying to digest his win of the Olympic bronze medal 🥉 yesterday after several tough races under poor weather conditions for a few days, causing a lot of delay and putting the contestants to the test. This resulted in changing strategies like using a smaller kite for at least one contestant. Had personally experienced two good fights for consecutive years against stronger competitors who took the gold and silver spots, leaving me the 3rd place🥉. Similar to how these athletes and many others, in life, there will always be others that are better and factors that come into play during a competition or a situation, just like what Maximilian Maeder went through at the international stage when he is 17 (kudos to him for keeping cool!) Factors such as Internal factors 1. Mental state of mind 2. Readiness 3. Skills and level of competency External factors 1. Environmental conditions - bad weather, faulty equipment, limited opportunities 2. Unexpected conditions - During my 2nd competition, the giant spot light facing me shattered during my 3-minute story and everyone (including judges) was distracted for a while as glass pieces flew into the audience. The important lesson here is to stay focused, remain calm, be composed and carry on whatever happens, try our best and put in the best effort regardless of how others do and what the circumstances are. Very thankfully, in a subsequent competition with contestants I sparred with earlier, I brought back the trophy for the 1st place (gold)🥇 eventually. # At_Paris_Olympics, a new special system will be applied to the qualifications of 200/400/800/1500 and 100/110/400 hurdles races, where a round of concentration will be added between the first and semi-finals, as shown in the picture below النه For example 800 meters race which is important for us as Algerians ♦️ The first round There are 6 qualifying series, from which the first 3 qualify directly to the semi-finals, a total of 18 runners against 30 runners. The rest will go through a training stage tomorrow consisting of 4 series from which the winner of the qualifying round + 2 the best timing to the semi-final round, so that the total of those qualified for the semi-final will become 24 runners. ♦️ Semi final round 24 runners are divided into 3 qualifying series, from which the first runners in each qualifying + 2 the best timing to the final round, and therefore we have 8 runners in the 800 meters final

We’ve got a truly global Piing schedule lined up this weekend as we take our mass-participation arcade games to audiences across the sporting spectrum.  We’re in Brazil for Round 1 of the WHOOP Union Cycliste Internationale Mountain Bike World Series in Mairiporã from today until Sunday with adi.tv, giving fanzone spectators a go at our MTB Racing game between the action out on the course. We’ll also be pulling into Missano, Italy with our E-Prix fanzone game for round seven and eight of the Formula E World Championships, also with adi.tv. Meanwhile in Germany, Piing will be testing the handball knowledge of spectators with a special Quiiz at the REWE Final4 event in Cologne on Saturday and Sunday, in partnership with brands and emotions GmbH. Then at home in the UK on Saturday, Bristol City FC fans will be playing Piing Pen-Kick pre-match when they go up against Huddersfield Town in a Skybet Championship first at the Ashton Gate Stadium. Manchester City will be running a half-time Quiiz at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday at their 3pm Premiership match against Luton Town. And in the US, where football becomes soccer, fans at Charlotte FC in North Carolina will be playing Piing Pen-Kick as part of the half time action in the 4th MLS home match against Toronto for shirt sponsors Ally, with MKTG.
